Buttigieg Say Trans Athlete Issue ‘Complicated,’ and Left Goes Nuts

Buttigieg Say Trans Athlete Issue ‘Complicated,’ and Left Goes Nuts

Pete Buttigieg opposes laws requiring the preservation of women’s sports by excluding men who cosplay being women.

But he has recently acknowledged that the issue is “complicated,” and he even said he understands why some parents might be upset about their daughters being subjected to the humiliation of competing against men.

And he is getting trashed for giving an inch on the issue. (NSFW):

“He’s betraying his community!”

A gay Democrat, Pete Buttigieg, dared acknowledge the “complexity” and potential “fairness issues” in the trans athlete debate… while STILL SAYING he opposes laws banning males from women’s sports.

It’s not just a few randos on TikTok. The trans lobby on the left is so powerful that few Democrats are willing to cross them, even a little bit.

Buttigieg is trying to stake out his position as the unthreatening, technocratic, and “safe” progressive in the 2028 presidential race, and to be fair, he is better at that than Gavin Newsom. Newsom tried this tactic earlier this year when he launched his podcast, but quickly abandoned it when the left piled on. So Newsom has gone back to the tried and no-longer-true strategy of taking on Trump.

I know he wants to be President and this is mostly for show, but let’s see how long he keeps this up once GLAAD and HRC, both run by our new gender identity overlords, quit inviting him to their fancy cocktail parties 😱https://t.co/pXih0vnJwU

Buttigieg will likely stick to this lane, though, because it is the only path to the nomination for him. Newsom is a more compelling character, in an oily way. Buttigieg could replace Sominex as a sleep aid, while Newsom, for all his oiliness and repulsive mannerisms, grabs your attention in the same way that sideshow grotesqueries used to at freak shows. And in today’s politics, that can be a draw.

Prominent Democrat and former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg addressed his recent comments about the fairness of letting biological males compete in women’s and girls’ sports.

After Buttigieg said “there are serious fairness issues” on the topic of letting trans athletes compete with females, during an interview with NPR in July, the Democrat spoke about the subject again during a Substack Live interview with Aaron Parnas. The Democrat suggested that parents who oppose allowing males to compete with girls must be heard.

“I think in order to bring people together on this, we also have to take everyone seriously ,including parents who have questions,” Buttigieg said.

Pete Buttigieg warned about the Democratic Party’s tendency toward “finger-wagging” at voters. (FLAGRANT YouTube channel)

“People who have questions or wonder what this means … they’re going to have questions about how to make sure that’s fair, and we should take those questions seriously and face those together.”

The former South Bend, Indiana, mayor also said he believes that the issue is “being used to hurt” people as a political topic, and he doubled-down on the stance that policies surrounding trans athletes in women’s sports shouldn’t be made by politicians.

“I see this issue being used to divide. I see it being used to hurt people,” he said. “It’s especially hurtful for trans people and people with transgender members of their family who witness themselves or people they love being used as a political football.”

Notice how Buttigieg never actually says what his position is? It is all about “understanding” both sides of the divide, but he avoids saying he sides with the alphabet crowd. He is dancing on the issue as he betrays women.

The Buttigieg trans dance reveals his strengths and weaknesses, which are the same thing. He gives comfort to liberals who want boring but competent (HINT: Buttigieg’s is only competent at looking Beta), but he does so by taking no real position that makes sense. He opposes banning men from women’s sports, but “understands” why some parents don’t like it.

So what? That’s like a man beating you up while assuring you that he feels your pain.

It may appear that Buttigieg’s strategy is working; he is, after all, second after Newsom as Democrats’ choice for nominee. The problem, though, is that most of the people choosing other candidates would never in a million years put Buttigieg on their list as a second choice. They want somebody even farther left, and won’t tolerate wishy-washy.

Buttigieg’s only hope is that the establishment will rig the primaries as they did for Hillary Clinton, which seems unlikely. It may be that Wall Street-type Democrats will want somebody who doesn’t scare most Americans, and they may see Buttigieg as good enough, but Democrat voters are not in the mood for another rigged nomination, and the DNC is much weaker than in 2016.

Until you see daylight between Congressional Democrats and the alphabet lobby–signaling it is safe to cross them–I suspect Buttigieg’s support will top out in the mid-20s, at most. Newsom has more room to move because, for all his flaws, he is more charismatic.

Yes, I know his charisma repels many people, but if you look at recent history, repelling voters is not the devastating flaw it used to be.
