By The Numbers: Who Supports Political Violence

In my last post, I discussed the “why” behind the seeming popularity of Luigi Mangione’s hero status with a segment of the “progressive” movement–progressive has always celebrated violence as their real path to power, and used the utopian promises as the excuse for their murderous practices.

In this post I want to discuss the prevalence of these beliefs, or the “how many.”

The murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was the first time I can remember where a shooting wasn’t immediately followed by a demand for gun control.
Selective Activism.

Scott Rasmussen sent me a link to his polling numbers on this issue, and they give you a sense of the scope of the societal problem we face.

10% of voters nationwide consider the man who murdered the #unitedhealthcareceo to be a hero. A @NapolitanNews survey found that 53% consider him to be a villain. Twenty-two percent (22%) say neither label applies and 15% are not sure.#UnitedHealthcare #LuigiMangione…

Younger voters (34%), Progressive Democrats (29%), people who talk politics every day (24%), and those with a postgraduate degree (21%) were more likely than others to say that such murder is sometimes justifiable.

The first thing you should notice is that there is a pretty big gap between the number of people who identify as liberal and the ones who approve of progressive violence. While liberals are far too tolerant of the violent leftist fringe in their midst, very few of them actively support the extremists who have been driving the public conversation.

Nowhere near a majority of liberals want to see enemies of the people gunned down in the street. Great!

But when you dig into the numbers, one thing pops out as really scary: the younger one is the more likely you are to support political violence. The kids coming out of our universities are, as a group, much friendlier to the idea of going on murderous sprees to kill off the enemies of the revolution. The more educated they are, the more friendly to violence.

Among younger voters, those aged 18-34, 21% consider the killer to be a hero. Only 1% of senior citizens (65+) share that view.

Support for the killer is strongest among Progressive Democrats who prefer Bernie Sanders’ like policies. Twenty-two percent (22%) of them consider the killer a hero and just 34% label him as a villain. Progressive leaders such as Senator Elizabeth Warren and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have made controversial statements expressing some understanding of the murderer’s actions.

Among voters with a postgraduate degree, 15% consider the killer a hero. Only 8% of those with a Bachelors’ degree share that view along with 9% of those without a college degree. This is one of many issue where the gap between those with a postgraduate degree and those with a bachelors degree is bigger than the gap between those with a bachelors degree and no degree.

People who talk politics every day are far more likely to consider the killer a hero (22%) than those who rarely or never talk politics (3%).

On a related question, 13% said it is sometimes justifiable to murder someone like United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson as a means to bring about important societal change. The Napolitan News survey found that 71% disagree and say such murder is never justifiable.

Similar demographic patterns were observed. Younger voters (34%), Progressive Democrats (29%), people who talk politics every day (24%), and those with a postgraduate degree (21%) were more likely than others to say that such murder is sometimes justifiable.

Thirty percent of progressive Democrats and 34% of younger voters are all-in on killing. 34%

Sure, that means even among progressives, 66% percent don’t embrace murdering people on the street, but…more than a third of progressives are ready for the revolution.

Ordinary Democrats are kidding themselves if they believe progressives are merely a bit too enthusiastic and unrealistic. They aren’t. They are revolutionaries who, if they could, would tear down society and replace it with their French Revolution-type regime. That was a regime that waved around its Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen while they were beheading their enemies and eventually turning on each other.

We have to be clear-eyed about who these people are and the danger they pose to society. In the grand scheme of things, ordinary Democrats, moderates, and MAGA-types need to see that in this fight, we have more in common than differences. We may disagree about how to make a more perfect union, but we are all the enemies of progressives.

I think that’s why so many prominent Democrats moved toward Trump this time around. Between Trump and the progressives, the choice was obvious to them. We need to do whatever we can to ensure other non-progressives see the same thing.

Progressives are the enemies of our civilization. Violence always follows them.
