Looks like Trump’s really got Canadian poutine in a pother.

The North country has gone…um…savage.

#WATCH: Trudeau says he’s doing everything possible to make sure Canada avoids being hit by tariffs in 2 weeks.

Everything except shutting down fentanyl labs and increasing border security…

The 2 things Trump said is non-negotiable. pic.twitter.com/x2TwW7IWq7

GACK

Tough guys.

BREAKING: Canadian MP Charlie Angus:

“We will never, ever, ever, kiss the ring of that gangster from Mar-A-Lago.”

ABSOLUTELY SAVAGE.

As an American it’s sad that I’m rooting for Canada here but I am… pic.twitter.com/e7fW1UDnrS

This is all in response to two things – Trump’s retaliatory tariffs on Canadian goods and his masterful trolling of their weak-kneed, flibberty-jibberty prime minister, Justin Trudeau…who is still inexplicably prime minister even though he promised to resign in a tearful press conference some time ago.

I guess it’s hard to quit a good gig when it’s hockey season.

In the last 4 days, Trudeau flew from:

-Ottawa to Montreal
-Montreal to Ottawa
-Ottawa to Vancouver
-Vancouver to Montreal

9K KM of flying that had nothing to do with official govt business.

But as far as the tariff war goes, the Canadians, for all their umbrage at the thought of Trump dissing Fidelito and adding our own, are way ahead of us in that department.

And I do mean ‘way ahead.’ I had this in the headlines earlier as a little primer on what Canadians have been charging Americans to import our goods to Canada.

Feast your eyes on how our dear neighbors – the ones now crying ‘foul’ and whining about gangsters – have been soaking us for decades.

Just to be clear, these are the tariffs Canada imposed on the USA for years, even before Trump ran his first mandate :

We started the trade war. Most Canadian businesses are taxed heavily by the government and couldn’t survive without imposing tariffs on the USA. This is the price of socio-communism.

Governor Trudeau wasn’t kidding when he told Trump the Canadian economy would collapse if Trump dropped tariffs on their goods. No kidding! Probably a quarter of their GDP – if not more – is raised off of tariffs on US farmers and manufacturing.

Makes poor little Honduras living off of remittances from illegals working here look pretty good by comparison.

OH, HELLO

Someone who speaks as authoritatively about Canadian politics as you do surely knows there is no American cheese in Canada, because our dairy monopoly has persuaded our government to put huge tariffs on American cheese. It’s why cheese and milk and yogurts cost double here. https://t.co/xWMVhiODzj

So if Trump follows through with his threats because Fidelito doesn’t have the strength of character to cut down on the border crossings or the fentanyl doing the same, maybe it’s just as well Canadians were making so much virtue-signaling noise about staying home.

We frequently hear about different threats to boycott Florida and yet our tourism numbers continue to grow year after year…

I doubt this time will be any different. pic.twitter.com/BA0GPu1Q69

The threats aren’t really being treated with much respect here in my neck of the woods. Plus, our governor is waaay more studly than yours.

Stay away from Florida. We are FULL!

Roads are jammed already with snowbirds.

Cant go to a restaurant without hearing the yankee accent.

Don’t come!

We’re already surrounded by Canadian plates and those accents. Schmaybe these folks didn’t get the message about staying in the frozen north and we won’t miss the virtue-signalers a lick.

Good, I do believe your hunting / fishing industry relies a little more heavily on Americans than Florida relies on Canadians. As far as tariffs go you’ve been using them for years pic.twitter.com/PCDQ0224Lt

Granted, there are places sweating a Canadian travel boycott. I guess they count on that money because they have shifty, miserable governance and need the foreigners.

Like Michigan.

The state put out a public relations piece in an online travel industry magazine that pleads so nakedly for Trump to back off and, I guess, for Canadians to forgive Michigan – ‘We didn’t do it!’ – that it’s downright embarrassing.

Grow a pair, people.

US Tariffs Spark Devastating Canadian Travel Boycott Threatening Michigan’s Tourism Industry

US tariffs have triggered a devastating Canadian travel boycott, putting Michigan’s tourism industry at risk with potential revenue losses and economic turmoil.

The recent announcement of U.S. tariffs on Canadian goods has ignited a strong backlash among Canadian travelers, leading to widespread cancellations of vacations to the United States. Michigan, a state that relies heavily on Canadian tourists, stands to lose millions in revenue as a result of this growing boycott. With Canada serving as the top international source of U.S. visitors, a decline in Canadian tourism could severely impact Michigan’s tourism sector, which contributes significantly to the state’s economy.

…Michigan’s proximity to Ontario, Canada’s most populous province, makes it a favored destination for Canadian travelers. Over one million Canadian tourists visit Michigan annually, contributing to the state’s $26 billion tourism sector. From border towns like Sault Ste. Marie and Port Huron to major cities such as Detroit and Grand Rapids, Michigan’s economy depends on these visitors for retail, hospitality, and tourism revenue.

However, the ripple effects of a Canadian travel boycott are already being felt:

  • Mackinac Island: Tourism officials fear the cancellation of Canadian vacations could devastate local businesses, including hotels and restaurants still recovering from the pandemic.
  • Port Huron and Sault Ste. Marie: Retailers in these border towns rely heavily on Canadian shoppers, who routinely cross the border for goods and services. Many businesses now expect sales to plummet.
  • Detroit Casinos: A significant portion of Detroit’s casino clientele comes from Canadian tourists. With the boycott in full swing, casino revenues are anticipated to drop sharply.

The 4 Nations hockey tournament this weekend didn’t hurt US self-esteem either.

Boo our national anthem, will you, you rude, maple syrup-chugging posers?

Gloves off.

Good Morning America. pic.twitter.com/pL18e4HmWr

As for boycotts, we still have the best medical facilities here – as in ‘not-socialized’ so you can see your US doctor when you need to aka sometime this year, and he won’t even encourage you to kill yourself to save the government money. You’re still coming.

Boycott, schmoycott.

I have many non-Canadian libs telling me that my rental business in Florida is about to dry up because Canadians are mad at Trump. Which is ironic considering I am already fully booked through 2026 with Canadian Snowbirds.

— Brother Seamus (@WaynePelota) February 19, 2025

Come to think of it, Canadians come to the US for hockey, too, even when the gloves stay on.

Good luck with the boycott.

By the by, didja know the 4 Nations championship hockey game is tomorrow night.

Guess who the teams are.

Me all season: “This 4 Nations Face-Off is stupid.”
