In a bizarre case blending threats, drugs, and an infamous friendship, Shannon Depararro Atkins, a South Florida drag queen known as “Big Momma,” has been arrested for making violent threats against President Donald Trump.
As reported by The Daily Mail, Atkins, 46, also owns a bakery in West Palm Beach and is a close friend of Casey Anthony, who was acquitted of murder charges in her infamous 2008 trial.

Atkins was taken into custody last Friday after police monitored a series of alarming social media posts. Authorities say these posts were made the day before Trump’s 2017 inauguration.
According to reports, Atkins posted a series of violent statements, including, “Lincoln, JFK, Reagan, Martin Luther King, and Trump. Unfortunately, one is still alive.”

Another post declared:
“America needs one good bullet to be saved.”
He also allegedly wrote that he hoped someone would assassinate Trump, lamenting:
“History is supposed to repeat itself. We haven’t had an assassination in years.”
Police Chief Tony Araujo made it clear during a Saturday press conference that such comments were far from acceptable. “Folks, this was not a joke,” Araujo stated. “In today’s climate, you really can’t say things like this.”

Authorities monitored Atkins closely after being tipped off about the threatening posts. They arrested him during a traffic stop near his West Palm Beach home Friday evening. During the arrest, officers discovered three baggies of cocaine in his pocket, adding to his legal woes.
Atkins faces charges of making written or electronic threats to kill, do bodily harm, or commit acts of terrorism, as well as felony cocaine possession. He reportedly admitted to the social media posts but dismissed them as “jokes.”
Atkins is known locally as the owner of Big Momma’s House of Sweets, a bakery famous for its cheesecakes. He developed the drag persona “Big Momma” to promote his business, regularly performing at local brunches and events.
His social circle includes Casey Anthony, who reportedly described him as “funny” and appreciated his sense of humor. A source close to Anthony told reporters, “She doesn’t like Trump either, but I don’t think their friendship is based on that, I think they just have similar senses of humor.”
Despite Atkins’ arrest, Anthony reportedly plans to stick by her friend. “She’s very loyal,” the source added. “It’ll take more than an arrest for her to turn her back on him.”
Police Chief Araujo emphasized the importance of reporting concerning social media activity, urging the public to contact the FBI, Crime Stoppers, or local law enforcement if they come across such threats. “It takes all of us to keep our community safe,” he said. “In this instance, the system worked.”
Atkins’ troubling posts, combined with his connection to Casey Anthony, have cast an even brighter spotlight on a case already loaded with controversy.
