Chaos Erupts in Minneapolis

As expected, chaos is erupting in Minneapolis. 

Just as the left wants.

I continue to insist that there are a lot of good and decent liberals who oppose the violence; they just believe that the violence could be avoided if only we gave leftists exactly what they want. If only conservatives were nicer, kinder, allowed the left to loot the treasury, open the borders, and defy the will of the electorate, everything would be fine. 

Yesterday, Tim Walz declared Minnesota is at “war against the federal government.”

Again today, he called it “war with our federal government.”

That belief is a fantasy. The reality is far darker. Leftists want confrontations. That is the entire point of their tactics. For instance, Minneapolis ICE Watch, the group to which Renee Good belonged, “educated” people to confront police to “dearrest” detainees by physically taking them out of vehicles after blocking them, which is exactly what Renee Good was doing along with her wife. The goal is to spark confrontations that can be filmed and catch on camera any use of force that can be used for propaganda purposes.

Renee dropped her wife off to film the confrontation, which she dutifully did, and when federal agents demanded she exit the vehicle blocking the road, Good’s wife shouted “Drive, baby, Drive.” Good hit an officer and got herself killed.

This shooting was entirely predictable. You don’t get to aim your car at a law enforcement agent and hit him. Officers have been killed in such incidents, and despite what liberals think, officers do not have a responsibility to die or to wait until they are fatally injured before they can defend themselves.

Minnesota government officials are encouraging this behavior and have refused to even do crowd control until violence occurs. They don’t even show up sometimes when their aid is requested to help prevent violence.

That is not a legal activity, and the police are letting it happen. Multiple hotels have been broken into, and the police are finally showing up.

Protesters are literally holding signs saying they will repeat the George Floyd riots that burned down parts of my city as they storm into hotels searching for ICE agents who have been threatened with death. This is “de-escalation” as it plays out in the real world—throwing people to the wolves for the sake of peace.

As in 2020, Governor Walz, after declaring that he was at war with the federal government and encouraging citizens to confront ICE agents, is kinda sorta reversing course rhetorically and calling for “peace.” Only this is what “peace” means in practice, where it actually matters.

People think I am being hyperbolic when I point out that these confrontations are being driven by revolutionary communists, but the fact is that these confrontations are being coordinated by communist revolutionaries, many of whom are the recipients of government grant monies through NGOs. Good’s child was going to a charter school that teaches protest and revolutionary politics, and which was an organizing center for ICE Watch. 

ICE Watch is funded by major nonprofits such as the Tides Foundation, which got government grants through USAID.

Minneapolis may be ground zero for the moment, but the chaos will spread to other cities. 

They are now calling for open insurrection against law enforcement just enforcing duly-enacted laws.

The one saving grace, perhaps, is that it is winter. If we get a nasty cold snap, the appetite for riots will diminish, but the confrontations will continue.
