Charlamagne and Whoopi Clash in Explosive Biden Pardon Debate [WATCH]

Radio host Charlamagne Tha God clashed with the co-hosts of The View on Wednesday over President Joe Biden’s recent “full and unconditional” pardon of his son, Hunter Biden.

The pardon, issued Sunday, contradicted Biden’s repeated assurances to the public that he would not intervene in his son’s legal troubles.

As reported by The Daily Caller, Charlamagne accused Biden of outright lying, highlighting the hypocrisy in Democrats’ claims to the moral high ground. “The criticism is valid because, you know, Democrats stand on this moral high ground all the time and act so self-righteous,” Charlamagne argued.

He added that Biden could have simply sidestepped questions about a potential pardon without making promises he wouldn’t keep. “But since they’re calling a threat to democracy and they were saying ‘nobody is above the law,’ but they were speaking about him. That’s what they were running on … [Biden] didn’t believe that. He didn’t have to volunteer that lie to begin with.”

This comment drew immediate pushback from co-host Whoopi Goldberg, who claimed there was no proof Biden lied. “I’m gonna stop you for a second. You don’t know that it was a lie. We don’t know why he changed his mind,” Goldberg said, speculating that Biden may have been fed up with double standards in politics. Charlamagne scoffed at her explanation.

Goldberg continued, claiming the president’s pardon was a response to perceived Republican hypocrisy. “At some point, you go, ‘I’m just gonna follow the straight arrow because that’s what’s expected of Democrats,’” she said, implying Biden may have had moral justification.

Charlamagne pushed back, calling out Democrats for their selective outrage. Stating how Democrats say “nobody is above the law,” but then accuse the DOJ of politically targeting Hunter. It’s the same lack of objectivity both parties show.

Sunny Hostin offered a different take, claiming Biden pardoned his son to protect him from what she described as a planned vendetta by President-elect Donald Trump against political enemies. Charlamagne wasn’t buying it, saying, neither Biden nor Trump have the moral high ground, which is exactly what’s wrong with politics today.

The pardon effectively shields Hunter from any convicted crimes or pending charges between January 1, 2014, and December 1, 2024. This includes potential allegations related to his overseas business dealings, such as his controversial tenure on the board of Burisma, a now-defunct Ukrainian energy firm.

Hunter’s legal woes extend beyond the pardon. A Delaware jury convicted him on three felony counts tied to his purchase of a Colt Cobra handgun in 2018 while being a known drug addict. Additionally, Hunter faces allegations of failing to pay $1.4 million in taxes between 2016 and 2019. Without the pardon, he could have faced up to 17 years in prison.

While Goldberg and Hostin defended Biden, Charlamagne’s pointed criticism underscored the political inconsistency at play. His challenge to Democrats to own their mistakes landed with a question many Americans are now asking: If no one is above the law, why does it feel like some are?
