A violent incident at a California wrestling event has prompted a police investigation after Raja Jackson, the son of former UFC light-heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, launched a brutal attack on independent wrestler Stuart “Syko Stu” Smith during a live show, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.

The assault took place Saturday night at a KnokX Pro Wrestling event in Sun Valley and was streamed live on the Kick platform.

Video footage shows Raja Jackson entering the ring and slamming Smith to the mat before unleashing more than 20 unanswered punches to his head. Other wrestlers quickly intervened and pulled Jackson away from the unconscious Smith.

Wrestling reporter Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful stated that while the altercation had been scripted to some degree, Jackson’s attack was not part of the planned segment.

Smith was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. Douglas Malo, one of the wrestlers who intervened, told USA Today that Smith had sustained multiple facial fractures and lost several teeth.

“He was choking on his own blood and teeth,” Malo said, recalling that he had to be reminded children were in the crowd during the violent scene.

According to Uncrowned, tensions had flared between Jackson and Smith earlier in the day, which may have contributed to the confrontation. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to TMZ that officers responded to the incident and filed a report.

The case remains under investigation.

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson released a statement on X addressing the situation, saying that his son had recently suffered a concussion in sparring and “had no business” being involved in a wrestling event. He described the attack as “bad judgment” and “a work that went wrong.”

“I don’t condone my son’s actions AT ALL!” Rampage Jackson wrote.

“He suffered a concussion from sparring only days ago and had no business doing anything remotely close to physical contact. As a father, I’m deeply concerned with his health AND the well being of Mr. Smith. That being said I’m very upset that any of this happened, but my main concern now is that Mr. Smith will make a speedy recovery.”

KnokX Pro Wrestling condemned the attack in a statement issued Sunday morning.

“What was supposed to be a planned and agreed upon wrestling spot, turned into a selfish, irresponsible act of violence against Mr. Smith. This egregious act is reprehensible and never should have occurred,” the statement read.

The group also apologized to fans and emphasized that in its 17 years of operation, nothing of this nature had taken place before.

Smith is reportedly awake and stable but remains under medical care.
