A woman identified only as “Holly” released a video statement on Sunday following a violent mob assault that took place during a jazz festival in Cincinnati last weekend.

Holly, who intervened to help a male victim during the attack, said she is now recovering from significant brain trauma as federal authorities continue to investigate.

The incident, which occurred in downtown Cincinnati, involved a group of individuals who allegedly targeted a white man and beat him severely in a public area.

Holly, who witnessed the attack and attempted to render aid, was also assaulted and rendered unconscious by the crowd.

Six individuals have been arrested and charged in connection with the violence so far. The FBI and the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division have opened an investigation into the attack, examining potential federal charges.

In a video posted to her X account on Sunday, Holly addressed the public for the first time since the incident.

Speaking with visible emotion, she thanked those who had expressed support and concern for her recovery.

“I want to say thank you to everyone for all of the love and support. It’s definitely what’s keeping me going. And you have just brought back faith in humanity,” Holly said in the video.

“It’s been very, very hard, and I’m still recovering. I still have a very bad brain trauma,” she added.

“God bless you all. Thank you.”

The original attack occurred during a large public gathering in the city center for a local jazz event.

Video footage circulating online appeared to show multiple individuals surrounding and violently attacking a white male victim, who was punched, kicked, and stomped.

When Holly attempted to help the man, she was also attacked by members of the crowd.

Most ity officials have condemned the incident, but one councilwoman is under fire for her comments.

Cincinnati Police have not released the names of all suspects due to the ongoing investigation.

Authorities continue to review surveillance footage and social media posts to identify additional participants in the assault.

The involvement of the FBI and the Civil Rights Division suggests that federal charges may be pursued in addition to any local or state charges already filed.

Law enforcement agencies have not commented on whether hate crime enhancements are being considered.

Public response to the incident has been widespread, with thousands expressing outrage and support for the victims on social media.

Holly’s message posted to X on Sunday has been viewed and shared widely by community members, advocacy groups, and public figures.

Holly has been in hiding since the vicious mob attack in Cincinnati.

This is her first message on camera.
