Erika Kirk said Monday that she held a private, in-person meeting with Candace Owens that resulted in a productive discussion, signaling a potential easing of tensions between the two following weeks of public disagreement after the assassination of Charlie Kirk, as The New York Post reported.
Kirk shared the update in a brief statement posted on X, confirming that the meeting had taken place and suggesting additional information would be released later.
“Had a very productive conversation with @RealCandaceO,” Kirk said. “More to come from both of us. Looking forward to AmFest this week. Time to get back to work.”

The statement marked the first public acknowledgment from Kirk that the two had met directly after a period of visible friction that played out publicly in the aftermath of Charlie Kirk’s death.
While details of the disagreement were not disclosed in Kirk’s post, the update suggested a shift away from public confrontation toward private discussion.

Candace Owens issued her own statement on X shortly afterward, offering more detail about the length and substance of the meeting. Owens said the conversation lasted several hours and covered a wide range of topics.
“Erika and I had an extremely productive 4 1/2 hour meeting that I think we both feel should have taken place a lot earlier than it did,” Owens said.
Owens said the discussion included both points of agreement and disagreement, noting that the meeting exceeded her expectations in terms of common ground.
“We agreed much more than I had anticipated. Of course, we also disagreed on various points and people as well. Most importantly, we were able to share intel and clarify intent,” she said.
Owens added that the conversation had an immediate effect on the tone of their relationship, describing a noticeable reduction in tensions by the end of the meeting.
“I will of course have a full rundown for you all tomorrow as I am currently exhausted, but I wanted to quickly let you guys know that absolutely nothing was held back and the immediate result was that tensions were thawed,” Owens said.

Both Kirk and Owens indicated that additional details would be shared in the coming days. Kirk referenced AmFest, an annual conservative event scheduled to take place this week, suggesting that both figures would be present and engaged publicly following the meeting.
Neither woman elaborated on specific disagreements or the events that led to their public rift, nor did they address how their discussion might affect future collaborations or public statements.
However, the coordinated messaging from both sides pointed to an effort to de-escalate tensions and move forward privately rather than through social media exchanges.
The meeting comes after weeks of heightened attention within conservative circles following Charlie Kirk’s assassination, which sparked widespread discussion, internal disagreements, and emotional responses across the movement.
While many of those debates unfolded publicly, Monday’s statements indicated a shift toward behind-the-scenes resolution.
No further comment was immediately available beyond the statements posted on X. Owens said she would provide a more detailed update on Tuesday, while Kirk indicated that additional information would come from both parties.
