The controversy over the so-called “Signalgate” has dominated media headlines, with many on the left seizing on the issue to attack the Trump administration.

However, prominent figures on the right, including President Donald Trump himself, have refused to engage in the manufactured outrage, instead redirecting criticism at their left-wing counterparts, highlighting the lack of accountability in the Biden-Harris administration, particularly regarding the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal.

The left’s attempt to use “Signalgate” as a political weapon is encountering resistance from Republicans, who are calling out their critics for their hypocrisy.

Many conservative voices argue that the left has no moral high ground to lecture others about leadership or the safety of American service members, especially given the significant failures under the Biden-Harris administration, including the handling of the Afghanistan exit.

GOP political strategist Scott Jennings was among those pushing back, making his case during a heated discussion on CNN Thursday.

Jennings pointed out that the bar for holding government officials accountable under the Biden-Harris administration seemed incredibly low, referencing the tragic deaths of 13 U.S. service members in Afghanistan.

He remarked, “You can get 13 people killed, and go AWOL and not tell the Commander in Chief, and that’s not a fireable offense,” referencing the lack of action from Democrats in response to the botched withdrawal and its aftermath.

Here is your nightly dose of Scott Jennings taking on an entire panel of conceited CNN liberals, and winning.

Meanwhile, CNBC Squawk Box co-host Joe Kernen continued the criticism during a Friday segment, where he unloaded on Senator Chris Coons (D-DE) for failing to hold Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin accountable.

Kernen pressed Coons repeatedly, demanding to know why, after the deadly Afghanistan withdrawal, Coons had not called for Austin’s resignation.

He pointed out, “Not only did we lose 13 service members, we left $70 billion worth of equipment that fell into the hands of the Taliban.”

Kernen continued, highlighting the failure of Austin to inform the White House for two weeks after the withdrawal, asking, “Did you ask for him to resign at this point?”

Kernen’s questions were met with Coons’ defense of Austin, who had been receiving medical treatment at the time, which Coons argued was “fundamentally different” from a breach of security.

However, Kernen was not convinced, responding, “The point is you’re going to complain about a splinter in one eye and ignore a 2×4 in the other eye.”

This exchange echoes a similar conversation Kernen had earlier with Senator Mark Warner (D-VA) on Wednesday, where the CNBC host once again pushed Democrats on their lack of accountability for the Afghanistan withdrawal.

Kernen’s message was clear: while the left focuses on the “splinter” in the Trump administration’s handling of the Signal chat leak, they have failed to address much larger issues involving national security and the disastrous decisions made under Biden’s leadership.

The lack of accountability surrounding the Afghanistan withdrawal continues to be a sore point for many Republicans, who have highlighted the failure of the Biden-Harris administration and its lack of repercussions for those involved.

The Biden-Harris administration’s handling of the situation left 13 U.S. service members dead and left billions of dollars’ worth of military equipment in the hands of the Taliban.

Despite this, many Democrats, including top officials, have faced no significant consequences.

The Biden-Harris administration’s handling of national security and foreign policy has been under fire since the chaotic exit from Afghanistan, and the “Signalgate” issue has only further fueled the debate.

Despite the left’s attempts to focus on the Trump administration’s alleged missteps, Republicans are drawing attention to what they view as far more significant failures that continue to go unaddressed.

As the debate continues, many Republicans are refusing to engage in the left’s manufactured outrage, choosing instead to remind their critics that their track record on national security and foreign policy is far from exemplary.

“We’ll take lessons from Democrats on national security matters and foreign policy discussions on like the 12th of Never, thank you very much,” one GOP strategist quipped, reinforcing the ongoing frustration with the lack of accountability for the Biden-Harris administration’s catastrophic mistakes.
