CNN’s “NewsNight With Abby Phillip” gave a rare dose of unfiltered reality last night, as viewers got a front-row seat to the chaotic collision of perspectives from a lineup of left-leaning pundits and one lone conservative.
As reported by Red State, the segment featured Abby Phillip, known for her steadfast leftist views, along with Mehdi Hasan, who recently left MSNBC after his low-rated show was axed.
Hasan’s track record on anti-Israel rhetoric and soft takes on groups like Hamas left many questioning MSNBC’s delay in dropping him.

The conservative voice in the discussion, 1776 Project PAC founder Ryan Girdusky, joined a panel that also included CNN commentator Ashley Allison, former Republican Congressman Scott Taylor, and Linda Lopez of WINS Radio.
The debate veered into high gear when Donald Trump’s recent Madison Square Garden rally entered the conversation. Predictably, accusations against Trump’s “Nazi-like” rhetoric surfaced, with CNN’s panel almost tripping over each other to drive the Hitler comparisons home.
Taylor, attempting to bring balance, highlighted the media’s extreme portrayal of Trump’s speech, a response that only added fuel to the fire. Phillip was quick to jump in, claiming that Trump himself and his inner circle had invoked these controversial references, not just the media.
Mehdi Hasan, no stranger to inflammatory commentary, added to the frenzy. He argued that Trump’s campaign tactics mirrored those of history’s darkest dictators.
In Hasan’s words, even calling Trump “far-right” wasn’t enough, as he piled on claims about Trump supporters using “replacement” rhetoric—a favorite talking point among the media elite attempting to paint conservative messaging in extremist tones.
NEW: All h*ll breaks loose after Ryan Girdusky appears to accuse Mehdi Hasan of being a terrorist after Hasan accused Girdusky of being a Nazi.
Pretty insane that this is where we are at right now.

Girdusky pushed back, adding his own humorous jab about Hasan’s longstanding pro-Palestinian, pro-terrorist sympathies—a touché moment that ultimately got him sidelined by CNN.
Predictably, CNN didn’t take kindly to Girdusky’s response. The network quickly issued a statement condemning the remarks as “racist” and “bigoted,” making it clear that his voice wouldn’t be welcome on their programs in the future.
Understand what just happened
Mehdi Hasan called Ryan Girdusky, a Polish-American, a Nazi
Ryan responded with a quip about beepers
Ryan was kicked off, and CNN apologized to Hasan for his comments
That’s how it works at CNN

Hasan, however, was untouched by the network’s sudden burst of moral standards.
This segment should serve as a wake-up call for any conservative even considering a guest spot on CNN or MSNBC.
The game is rigged. Conservatives are brought on as nothing more than targets for mockery, standing little chance against the stacked deck of left-leaning voices eager to pile on.
As long as they toe the line and play the punching bag, they’ll be invited back. But the second they challenge the narrative, they’re promptly shown the door.
