A recent controversy involving National Security Adviser Michael Waltz has made waves but is quickly fading into the background as it becomes clear that there is no scandal, only an inside-the-beltway story that’s unlikely to have lasting consequences.
Waltz came under scrutiny after adding Jeffrey Goldberg of The Atlantic to a private chat involving top Trump officials, including Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, where the group discussed strategies for dealing with the Houthis.
The crux of the controversy was the allegation that classified information was disclosed during the chat.

However, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, who was part of the discussion, quickly shot down this claim, assuring the public that no classified information had been shared.
BOOM. JEFF GOLDBERG IS ON LIFE SUPPORT.

The supposed leak of sensitive information turned out to be nothing more than a myth, as no secret war plans were exposed.
This narrative, which had been fueled by Goldberg—a writer with a long history of anti-Trump rhetoric—was baseless unless Goldberg decides to reveal more of the conversation.
As of now, there’s no evidence to suggest any classified intelligence was involved, and unless Goldberg has something to add, it seems the entire controversy was a non-issue.
Goldberg, known for pushing hoaxes during the Trump era, has yet to substantiate the claims of a major security breach, leading many to wonder if the incident was simply a manufactured story.
So far, the lack of any actual disclosures or evidence of wrongdoing seems to undermine the narrative the liberals tried to build around the chat.
While the controversy surrounding Waltz might seem like a political stumble, it’s hardly the disaster some may have hoped for.
As CNN commentator Scott Jennings pointed out, the real disaster for the Biden-Harris administration remains the catastrophic withdrawal from Afghanistan, which resulted in the deaths of 13 American soldiers in a suicide bombing at Abbey Gate.

The tragic deaths of these soldiers have continued to haunt the Biden-Harris administration, a failure that continues to resonate far more than the minor controversy surrounding Waltz’s chat.
Adding to the list of missteps, the Biden-Harris administration also botched a drone strike that killed 10 people, including seven children.
The strike targeted an alleged ISIS-K member, Zemari Ahmadi, but the incident later turned out to be a tragic mistake.
Initially, the Biden-Harris administration claimed that no civilians had been killed, but it was later revealed that the strike had killed innocent people, including children.
The initial denial and subsequent acknowledgment of the mistake further fueled criticism of the administration’s handling of military operations.
The fallout from the Afghanistan withdrawal, including the deaths of American service members and civilians, has had lasting consequences on Joe Biden’s approval ratings and has set the stage for a continued public reckoning over his leadership.
While the Waltz controversy may have briefly captured attention, it’s clear that it pales in comparison to the ongoing damage caused by Biden’s botched handling of the Afghanistan situation.
As the story surrounding Waltz’s chat fades, the shadow of Biden’s Afghanistan withdrawal continues to loom large, and it remains one of the defining failures of his presidency.
The loss of American lives, both military and civilian, as well as the botched response to the drone strike, has caused irreversible damage to the Biden-Harris administration’s credibility on national security and military operations.
In the end, it is not the minor misstep involving Waltz and Goldberg that will define this period in American history, but rather the far-reaching consequences of Biden’s mishandling of Afghanistan.
