Congressional Democrats Introduce ‘Trans Bill of Rights’ Protecting Child Mutilation

A lot of people have been, with some justification, celebrating the fact that trans ideology is losing major battles. 

The light is at the end of the tunnel, right?

Well, yes and no. What we are seeing is the breaking of a taboo—people who knew in their hearts that grooming, sterlizing and mutilating children, and sacrificing women’s rights for the pleasure of dangerously mentally ill men was wrong are now ready to speak up, at least a bit. 

A plastic surgeon who trained at a major NYC hospital has apologized for failing to “speak up” after seeing minors as young as 13 undergo “irreversible” gender surgeries.

The breaking of the taboo, and much more importantly, the victory in a lawsuit against the butchers who mutilated a child, is forcing some establishment institutions to pull back from the most radical positions. Chasing clout and money, they went all in on trans, and fearing consequences, they are moving the other direction. 

But the true believers haven’t moved an inch, and if anything, are doubling down. Queer ideology is a revolutionary movement, or a key part of a larger revolutionary movement. Revolutionary movements don’t waver when conditions change—they intend to be the wind, not the sailboat. 

Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) ridiculously says that critics of men pretending to be women are just jealous of them.

The radical left is simply not going to let the Democratic Party “move to the center” on this issue; the most it will allow is the Spanberger move—you may hedge a bit during the campaign, but if so, you must bow down entirely when in office. 

Anybody who thinks that the transgender movement is beaten doesn’t understand who and what these people are. The fact that institutions, such as a few hospitals that depend on the federal government for their very existence, have buckled to Trump’s will, or that surgeons who are in danger of losing malpractice insurance are getting nervous, is a setback, not a defeat. 

Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA) says his “Trans Bill of Rights” says children should be allowed to have elective gender surgeries and get documents that say they’re a different gender than their chromosomes dictate.

The goal is to create a new set of “rights” that change the game entirely. And by putting down a marker, the Trans Bill of Rights is intended to force Democrats to choose between breaking with the trans movement and suffering the wrath of their most engaged voters, or pledging fealty. 

Almost every Democrat will be forced to pledge fealty.

The average Democrat may not support sterilizing and mutilating kids, but it is now clear that they will not vote on the issue. The radicals will vote on the issue, so their opinion matters. Few Democrats can afford to buck the will of the revolutionaries, while remaining confident that the rest of their voters will not punish them for giving in to the radical demands.

Unless they are in a swing district, the safest move is to stand with the radicals. And there are few swing districts anymore, so the Democratic Party will remain the trans party, and the core lefty institutions such as academia and the public schools will remain just as radical as before. 

The Trans Bill of Rights would guarantee federal protections for trans people.

In a prior age, when there were more swing districts and fewer Deep Blue areas, leadership at the top of the party could hold the radicals in check. But over the past few decades, as the country has sorted out, leadership in neither party is in a position to bully their members into being “moderates” on issues. 

This is generally a problem for Republican leadership on fiscal issues, or because a few Republicans hold on in districts that could easily swing Democrat (Maine, anyone?), but for Democrats, fealty must be pledged to the most divisive issues in society. 

That’s why you Democrats stick to the 20 side of so many 80-20 issues. So far, the hatred of Trump has allowed Democrats to gain enough “moderate” votes to keep winning elections despite their radical positions on issues that voters care about, but not enough to overcome their fear of Trump. 

And that’s also why the Democrats need to keep the anti-Trump hysteria going as long and as intensely as possible. Without it, they would lose elections even in districts that are not “swing,” but not exactly Deep Blue. 

No doubt there is a substantial number of Democrats who wish they could get out of this bind. They just want access to power and money, and don’t want to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs. But they won’t have any choice for quite a while. 

Right after Trump’s victory, Seth Moulton and Gavin Newsom tried to moderate on trans issues and were pummeled for trying to do so. 

That was a warning, and the Democrats listened. Trans issues are here to stay for the foreseeable future. 

Which means, of course, that we have a long way to go in the fight against this malign ideology. Anybody who thinks that the victories we are celebrating signal the imminent end of the battle is mistaken.
