Former FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino made a scatological reference to two corporate media outlets Thursday evening over their coverage of the Trump administration’s track record fighting violent crime.
The average homicide rate dropped by 21% in nearly three dozen major U.S. cities in 2025, the largest one-year drop of all time, according to statistics compiled by the Council on Criminal Justice (CCJ). Bongino gave Hannity a preview of his podcast, which is slated to return Feb. 2. “These media people, they’re like a full diaper all the time. My daughter just turned 14, so it’s been about 13 years since I changed any diapers, but that’s the media,” Bongino said. “Some of the stories, here, let me give you a perfect example. If this doesn’t make you laugh, this was just today, perfect timing. I didn’t even intend to talk about this.”

“Axios, obviously left-leaning, Axios has this headline about the homicide rate being the lowest since the 1900s,” Bongino continued. “I was like, ‘Wow, OK.’ Start reading down the article like, well, ‘There’s a thousand excuses as to why President Trump and his administration didn’t do it.’ Meanwhile, I lived it. I know what we did and didn’t do for these dumb asses, right?”
President Donald Trump issued an executive order hours after taking office on Jan. 20, 2025, ordering the Department of Justice to pursue the death penalty more vigorously and announced a federal takeover of Washington, D.C.’s Metropolitan Police Department to address crime in the District of Columbia on Aug. 11. This action followed an incident in which Edward Coristine, a Department of Government Efficiency staffer known as “Big Balls,” was severely injured while intervening to prevent a carjacking by a mob.
“Same day, about an hour later, I see a New York Times headline. Kash Patel’s FBI has made America less safe. Do you dipwads even read your own headlines?” Bongino asked. “Are you that stupid? These are these media morons, people who’ve never spent a day wearing a badge, never kicked in a door, never arrested some child predator or some bank robber or some gang member. These morons don’t know anything about the state, the safety status of the country.”
According to the CCJ report, 2025 saw decreases in aggravated assaults (down 9%), gun assaults (down 22%), domestic violence incidents (down 2%), robberies (down 23%), and carjackings (down 43%) compared to 2024. Drug-related crimes increased by 7%, the only category that rose. (RELATED: Illegal Alien Held On $5 Million Bail After Being Charged With Killing Couple In Drunk-Driving Wreck)
“This isn’t hard to figure out… murder rates all-time low, the country’s less safe. Do these people even hear themselves? They are a big, full diaper,” Bongino said. “I’m tired of these idiots. Think about where we are right now in the country. If you listen to the media, you would think the last year was Armageddon.”
“Almost zero illegal border crossings, inflation is now relatively contained, GDP growth is projected to hit 5, potentially 6, trade deficits falling down, the murder rate’s at an all-time low, violent crimes at a near all-time low,” Bongino said. “I mean, what freaking country are these morons living? What are they looking at? Are they missing this stuff? These are not small items.”
