Democrat Presidential Hopeful Wes Moore Caught On George Clooney’s Yacht In Italy

Democratic Maryland Gov. Wes Moore was photographed lounging on actor George Clooney’s yacht in Italy on Monday, according to the Daily Mail.

The appearance fueled scrutiny because Clooney has previously floated Moore as a potential Democratic presidential candidate. The governor, wearing swim trunks and accompanied by his wife, appeared relaxed during the trip. Meanwhile, the White House slammed Moore’s absence in a statement to The Baltimore Sun. “While Maryland residents try to escape dangerous criminals in their communities, Gov. Wes Moore [sic] is attempted to escape any accountability for the out-of-control crime in his state by fleeing to Italy for a luxury getaway with Democrat elites,” White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers told the outlet. “Gov. Moore needs to get his priorities straight – instead of taking yacht vacations or fantasizing about his 2028 presidential bid, he needs to make Maryland safe again.”

Reporters pressed Moore’s office to explain the purpose of his trip and identify others seen on the yacht after the photos surfaced.

The governor’s office issued a short statement but did not answer questions about the gathering or Moore’s time abroad.

“The Governor paid for a trip to celebrate his wife’s 50th birthday,” his office said, according to Fox 45 News.

Clooney hasn’t issued public comment about the nature of the outing.
