Democratic Massachusetts Rep. Seth Moulton criticized his party’s focus on identity politics Wednesday, noting that he doesn’t want his daughters “getting run over” by a man playing sports.
“I have two little girls, I don’t want them getting run over on a playing field by a male or formerly male athlete,” Moulton said to New York Times reporter Reid Epstein.
“But as a Democrat, I’m supposed to be afraid to say that,” he concluded.

Moulton was not the only Democrat to blame identity politics for his party’s electoral failures.
Democratic New York Rep. Tom Suozzi told The New York Times that the Democrats who won down ballot were able to do so by separating themselves from some of the party’s positions on social issues. (RELATED: Chris Cuomo Says Trump Won Because Of ‘Wokeism Run Amok’)
“Democrats have to stop pandering to the far left. I don’t want to discriminate against anybody, but I don’t think biological boys should be playing in girls’ sports,” Suozzi said, according to The New York Times.
“Democrats aren’t saying that, and they should be,” Suozzi added.

Of 22 issues for the 2024 election, transgender rights ranked dead last as an issue of importance for registered voters, according to a September Gallup poll. Thirty-six percent of voters said it wasn’t important to them at all.
The 2024 Democratic Party Platform mentioned the word “transgender” eight times and the word “LGBTQI+” 37 times.
