Democrats Admit Their Own Voters Are Out For Blood As Immigration Officers Become Target For Violence

Physical attacks against immigration agents are surging as Democratic lawmakers admitted Monday that their constituents have been egging on violence against the Trump administration.

An active shooter with a rifle attacked border patrol agents at an ICE facility in McAllen, Texas Monday morning. Authorities believe the attack was targeted. A police officer was separately shot in the neck on Friday outside of an ICE facility in Alvarado, Texas. 

Meanwhile, Democratic constituents are making clear that they expect lawmakers to take violent action to combat Trump’s deportation policies.

“Our own base is telling us that what we’re doing is not good enough,” one House Democrat told Axios, “[That] there needs to be blood to grab the attention of the press and the public.”

Another House Democrat said constituents were calling for “violence…to fight to protect our democracy,” Axios reported. 

“What I have seen is a demand that we get ourselves arrested intentionally or allow ourselves to be victims of violence, and … a lot of times that’s coming from economically very secure white people,” another House Democrat told Axios.

President Trump’s Border Czar Tom Homan has repeatedly warned lawmakers that anti-ICE rhetoric will lead to violence against officers.

“It’s only a matter of time before ICE agents are ambushed by some nut,” Homan said just prior to Monday’s ambush.

A police officer was shot in the neck on Friday night outside of an ICE facility in Alvarado, Texas. Alvarado police were dispatched to the location to investigate reports of a suspicion person. The officer was hit after trying to engage the suspect. Multiple suspects were arrested in the area following the shooting, according to CBS News.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said that assaults against ICE officers and federal officials conducting immigration enforcement are up almost 700% this year, compared to the same time last year. From January 21, 2024 to June 30, 2024, DHS recorded 10 assaults against immigration officials, Fox News reported. In the same time frame this year, after President Trump took office on January 20, DHS recorded 79 assaults against immigration officials.

Los Angeles was the site of widespread anti-ICE violence earlier this year, when rioters took to the streets in protest of the Trump Administration’s deportation policies.

“Make no mistake, Democrat politicians like Hakeem Jeffries, Mayor Wu of Boston, Tim Walz, and Mayor Bass of Los Angeles are contributing to the surge in assaults of our ICE officers through their repeated vilification and demonization of ICE,” Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement. “From comparisons to the modern-day Nazi gestapo to glorifying rioters, the violent rhetoric of these sanctuary politicians is beyond the pale.”

LA rioters threw rocks at law enforcement, set cars on fire, and assaulted police officers, according to a DHS statement. Rioters spray-painted calls for violence and vandalized city property, with one photo showing the phrase “kill a cop” written on a street sign, according to DHS. Vice President JD Vance called the LA rioters “insurrectionists” and called on Congress to pass Trump’s “One Big, Beautiful Bill” in order to secure the border.

Insurrectionists carrying foreign flags are attacking immigration enforcement officers, while one half of America’s political leadership has decided that border enforcement is evil.

The bill will fund 5,000 new Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers, as well as 3,000 new border patrol agents, the Daily Caller News Foundation reported.

ICE Acting Director Todd Lyons said the bill will provide “unprecedented” funding for ICE to carry out enforcement in a statement Thursday.
