Democrats Always Outraged When Criminals Are Punished

I actually understand why kindhearted people feel bad when some illegal immigrants are swept up by ICE and deported. 

After all, many illegal immigrants are not bad people who run roughshod over the system, and before Biden opened the floodgates, the majority of them weren’t coming here to suck off the government tit, grabbing free room and board. Most liberals don’t really understand the fiscal and societal burdens from unlimited migration, and they can easily focus on the plight of each migrant one-by-one without seeing the big picture. 

But come on, man. If you can’t support sweeping up rapists, murderers, and gang members there is something wrong with you. Whatever claims you make to being empathetic to people in trouble are belied by the fact that you are fighting hard for the bad guys, not their victims.

Time and again, we are confronted by the fact that the left is pro-criminal, not pro-compassion. “Criminal Justice Reform” has demonstrably led to more crime, a lower quality of life, and thousands of extra murders that would never have happened but for lax enforcement of the laws. 

Since Trump came into office the entire apparatus of the Democrat Party has mobilized to stop the deportation of gang members and criminals–mayors, judges, and some law enforcement officers have denounced capturing and deporting…sex offenders. 

NASHVILLE — The federal deportation raids in Tennessee that have garnered outrage from local Democrats resulted in the capture of rapists, drug dealers, and gang members, according to a Department of Homeland Security dossier obtained by The Daily Wire.

Nashville’s Democrat mayor Freddie O’Connell has said he was very “frustrated” to see immigration enforcement in the city, stating, “We did not request this approach to safety, we do not support it.” In response, he signed an executive order mandating that communications from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) be directed to his office immediately.

His outrage comes with little public information known about the scale about the raid, but The Daily Wire has learned that nearly 200 illegal aliens were captured during the weeklong raids, including rapists, drug dealers, and gang members.

The raids, which ICE carried out in conjunction with local and federal law enforcement partners, began on May 3 and resulted in the arrest of 196 illegal aliens. Of those arrested, 95 had prior criminal convictions or pending criminal charges, while another 31 had reentered the country after being previously removed from the United States, a felony offense, the federal law enforcement agency told The Daily Wire.

“This operation resulted in getting gang members, sex offenders, and other violent criminals off Nashville’s streets,” Tricia McLaughlin, the Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs, told The Daily Wire. “President Trump and Secretary Noem will continue to stand with victims and the brave ICE agents who are on the frontlines making America safe again.”

We are now living in a country where judges are quite literally protecting and harboring fugitives from the law, and when they get arrested for doing so, the Democrats are outraged. The party of “nobody is above the law” actually means: only criminals are above the law–anybody we don’t like will be tossed in jail.

Congressmen are assaulting ICE officers to highlight the plight of Tren de Aragua members. These poor oppressed gang members might be doctors, astronauts, or cure cancer if we send them back home, you see. 

Besides, they aren’t white. If they were white and inclined to wave American flags, they would work night and day to keep them out of the country.

Democrats could help their pro-migrant cause immensely if they focused their efforts on saving the “dreamers”–illegal immigrants whose parents brought them with them when they crossed the border. It seems to me that it is an easy case to make that many or most Americans could get behind. Deporting a young adult who was raised in America and who broke no law themselves is not a hard argument to make, even if some people will reject it. I think that would be a political winner. 

But no. The Democrats go all out fighting the deportation of rapists and murderers, child molesters and wife beaters. There is something about the “justice-impacted” community that seems irresistible to them. Democrats will invent crimes, rejigger statutes of limitations, and even perjure themselves to put a Republican in jail. 

Rapists? Eh, not so much.
