I think we can all agree that the Democratic Party is in deep trouble.
Whatever poll you look at, the results are the same: approval for the Party is in the mid-to-high 20s, with ordinary voters disgusted by their antics and their bizarre priorities and values.
Admittedly, many Democratic Party elected officials are genuinely ideologically captured–cultural or even economic Marxists who believe that the West needs to be destroyed, that children need to be sterilized and mutilated, and that the primary role of government is putting dollars into the pockets of Leftist lunatics.
But at least a plurality, and likely a majority of Democratic officeholders, are normal political grifters just wanting to use graft and corruption to get money and power. And such people take their cues from their voters because it is they who butter their bread.
‘Fear and anger’: California town halls are not going well for Democrats, either https://t.co/CZXuvnYcjo

And their voters are genuinely insane. By that I don’t mean metaphorically insane, but rather men dressing as women, dying their hair blue, screaming about a trans genocide, and fantasizing about lining their political adversaries against the wall and mowing them down. They view Che Guevara as a hero, Stalin as a misunderstood humanitarian, and think that Palestine should be a tourist destination for queers.
Grade A fancy nuts. You could put them in a nice-looking can and charge $23.99 for 3 ounces.
California Democrats were lambasted at a series of town halls over the past week, with constituents demanding the party do more to stand up to billionaire Musk’s cuts to government services.
“I want to know why in the world the Democratic Party hasn’t fought yet?” asked one resident at a town hall Rep. Ro Khanna hosted in the Inland Empire on Sunday. Khanna, whose district includes Sunnyvale, Cupertino and Milpitas, hosted events in three Republican-held districts in the Central Valley and Orange County over the weekend. At each one, Politico said, Democrats “were unambiguously being put on blast.”
As Independents yearn for stability, sanity, and just a little bit of calm from politics, they look at the Democrats and cringe. Many of these people voted for Obama and Biden, most for Hillary, and not a few for Kamala Harris. They wish they had an alternative to Trump, not because they hate him exactly, but because the speed and scope of his reforms are disquieting to them. They want the status quo, whatever it is because change worries them.
You and I cheer on Trump and Elon, believing that all the apparent chaos will end up with good results. There is a method to the madness, and likely we are right. Trump pulls rabbits out of hats on a daily basis, so we enjoy the show. Many normies don’t even want a show, wanting just to be left alone. They don’t see the disaster on the horizon, so they complain that the car is swerving to avoid hitting the brick wall.
Democrats, though, can’t appeal to the moderates right now because they are obviously insane, and will be forced to remain so in order to hold on to their shrinking base.
At a separate town hall in Orange County, hosted by freshman Democrat Rep. David Min on Thursday, over 1,000 people attended, including one resident who said it seemed like Democrats were “quietly sitting and doing nothing,” according to the OC Register. Min told the crowd that he feels “the same anxiety, fear and anger that so many of you expressed to me.”
Democratic Rep. Gil Cisneros made a similar comment during a fiery town hall in Los Angeles last week, telling his audience, “I’m on your side.” One resident had told Cisneros, “I just wish that the Democrats would match my anger and my fear,” the Los Angeles Times reported.
As ordinary people are repelled by the madness, the Democrat base wants even more of it. They believe that the key to success is to get even more insane, shriek ever louder, burn more Teslas, and perhaps shoot another executive or three while wearing dresses, lipstick, and enough piercings to attract them to electromagnets at junkyards.
Republicans used to beg for the attention of the status quo crowd by “moderating” and doing nothing. But Trump is dragging them into doing things, and they are scared. But they will be forced to push through Trump’s agenda, which is a good thing, and Democrats’ response will likely be to become even more radical to keep their base happy.
If Republicans buck the off-year trend and retain power in Congress, we can thank the Democratic Party base for pushing their representatives closer to Bernie, AOC, and Jasmine Crockett.
Ironically enough, the crazies may turn out to be our greatest political allies as long as we can keep them from a murderous rampage.
