Podcast host Charlamagne Tha God issued a stark warning to Democrats during an episode of his podcast “Brilliant Idiots” on Friday, accusing the party of losing its grip on cultural and political influence.
His remarks come in the wake of controversial preemptive pardons issued by former President Joe Biden during the final hours of his presidency on Monday.
Biden’s pardons included Dr. Anthony Fauci, General Mark Milley, members of the January 6 committee, and five of his own family members.

In a statement, Biden defended the pardons, calling them a necessary measure to prevent “targets of unjustified and politically motivated prosecutions.”
Charlamagne criticized the decision as a significant misstep for Democrats, stating, “I just want Democrats to be smarter, and I want Democrats to pay attention to what MAGA gets right. And I want them to start implementing some of that stuff on their own because they’re losing the cultural war. They’re losing, you know, their political optics is just terrible.”
He argued that such actions not only reflect poorly on the party but also lend credibility to conspiracy theories that the left has worked hard to dismiss.
“Right now, they have literally proved every conspiracy theorist right. You pardon, you do preemptive pardons for Dr. Fauci. Biden, you did preemptive pardons for your whole [expletive] family,” Charlamagne said.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, who served on the White House Coronavirus Task Force and as chief medical advisor to Biden, has been the subject of accusations, including allegedly misleading Congress and dodging Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.
The pardon covers actions during his tenure dating back to 2014.
Biden’s decision also extended to five family members, including two of his brothers, as well as commuting the sentences of 2,500 individuals convicted of violent crimes.
Some of those pardoned were involved in incidents resulting in the deaths of law enforcement officers, a move that has drawn sharp criticism from Republicans.
Charlamagne emphasized the political fallout of these actions, saying, “You have done nothing but give right-wing outlets content forever.”
He warned that such moves not only fuel conservative media narratives but also alienate independent voters who are crucial in upcoming elections.
President Donald Trump addressed the pardons during a press briefing earlier this week, blasting Biden for what he called an admission of guilt.
“Pardoning your own family? That’s a disgrace. It implies guilt and would have destroyed my chances of re-election if I had done the same,” Trump said.
The controversy surrounding Biden’s pardons comes as Democrats face mounting challenges in the cultural and political landscape.
Charlamagne’s criticism reflects a growing concern among some left-leaning voices that the party is failing to effectively counter conservative narratives and secure the support of a broader electorate.
As the fallout from Biden’s final acts continues to unfold, Democrats may face increased pressure to recalibrate their strategy to regain cultural relevance and address the criticisms raised by figures like Charlamagne Tha God.
