Democrats Just Can’t Help Themselves

By now, most Democratic politicians must have figured out that their initial reaction to Charlie Kirk’s death was politically devastating. 

Now, as I have said many times before, a lot, or even most, politicians are high-functioning sociopaths, so it shouldn’t surprise you that a good number of them wouldn’t grasp how immoral it is to celebrate a political assassination. But very intelligent sociopaths are superb manipulators who can read the room, which is why sociopaths can be very effective con men or, oddly enough, CEOs. They may not feel the emotions, but they can recognize and utilize that knowledge to gain an advantage. 

Alas for the Democrats (and all of us, really), most lower-level politicians are actually pretty stupid, or at best midwits, and they really aren’t good at reading the room or hiding their contempt for people. Most of the people who are shouting from the rooftops about how happy they are that Charlie Kirk is dead are not high-functioning sociopaths–those people become governors and presidential candidates–but emotionally incontinent boobs. 

And because they are emotionally incontinent, they act out like pubescent teens.

“You live by the sword, you die by the sword?” What sword did Charlie Kirk use, exactly? A microphone with which he conversed with others, to whom he gave a microphone. 

He was taken down by a sniper’s bullet. These are not the same, except in the world of critical theory.

A Congresswoman–especially Ilhan Omar, who supports actual terrorists–should know that spouting off about a man whose sin in her eyes was saying things she doesn’t agree with being a terrorist is a bad look. 

But these people can’t help themselves.

As I have pointed out, what is so distinctive about the Democrats’ reaction to political violence is their celebrations of it. They see the mere existence of Republicans as intolerable, and our speech is described by them to be a species of violence. We commit “genocide” when we call a trans person by their “deadname,” or “misgender” a confused person. 

They call it erasure, and hence taking us out with bullets is a form of self-defense. 

Destiny just said the quiet part out loud:

When one of the most popular podcasters in the world openly admits that Republicans would be safer as long as we voted for the Democrats, it is clear that the idea is that we deserve what we get.

It is shocking enough that adults can think this way, but it is revelatory that so many Democrats, knowing that saying such things is politically harmful to their party, can’t help themselves.

What kind of person proudly posts a video of her children, who she obviously raised to hate Republicans, and about whom they can know nothing that they weren’t told by their parents, celebrating an assassination?

These people literally cannot control themselves. They must know that they are exposing themselves and their “cause” to opprobrium, but they are so used to emoting and throwing tantrums that they are incapable of even shutting up when it most counts. 

Democrats have depended upon a strategy of whipping up their base, and now their base is so used to being hateful–and encouraged to be so–that they behave in an unhinged manner. 

Hate is not a switch you can turn on and off.
