Denver’s Mayor Tried To Incite An Insurrection? Rand Paul Says He Will Lose [WATCH]
Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) weighed in on the potential legal and political consequences for the mayor of Denver if he continues to resist federal law, warning that the issue could ultimately be brought before the Supreme Court.
During an appearance on CBS News’ Face the Nation, Paul expressed confidence that the mayor’s actions would result in a legal loss, possibly even leading to his removal from office.
“The mayor of Denver, if he’s going to resist federal law, which is a longstanding standing history of the supremacy of federal law, he’s going to resist that,” Paul said. “It will go all the way to Supreme Court, and I would suspect that he would be removed from office.”

Paul acknowledged uncertainty around whether criminal charges would be brought against the mayor but made it clear that the mayor would ultimately lose in this legal confrontation.
The senator went on to explain that the mayor’s resistance could be considered a form of insurrection in which state and local officials defy federal authority. “What he is offering is a form of insurrection, where the states resist the federal government,” Paul stated. “Most people objected to that, rejected that long ago.”
Paul further emphasized that the mayor’s actions placed him on the wrong side of history, noting that such resistance to federal law is not only legally unsound but also politically unpopular.
“So I think the mayor of Denver is on the wrong side of history, and really, I think will face legal ramifications if he doesn’t obey the federal law.”

The comments follow growing tensions between local governments and federal authorities, particularly in cases where cities and states have implemented sanctuary policies that conflict with federal laws.
While Paul did not specify the exact actions of the Denver mayor in the video clip, he was referencing his recent comments about using Denver Police and citizens to prevent Federal law enforcement from removing criminal illegal aliens. WATCH:
His prediction that the case could ultimately reach the Supreme Court reflects the serious implications of this legal showdown.
Should the case proceed as expected, the Supreme Court’s decision could set a precedent for how similar conflicts are resolved in the future, potentially reshaping the balance of power between state and federal authorities.
As the debate over the role of federal authority continues to play out across the nation, the mayor of Denver faces mounting pressure from both legal experts and political figures like Paul, who see his resistance as a threat to the constitutional order.
Johnston has since walked back his comments.
Can someone explain to @denversmayor what illegal means? Democrats can mislabel terms all they want, but you’re either in this country legally or illegally. If you want to be here, there’s a proper way to go about it. Those who took the shortcut need to leave.
As for Johnston,… https://t.co/tQWI8Os0O6
