Just days after the passing of beloved Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson, the Robertson family is now facing another heartbreaking challenge — the declining health of Phil’s wife of nearly six decades, Miss Kay.

Phil, who was 79 when he died on May 25, 2025, had been battling Alzheimer’s disease in his final years.

His passing marked the end of an era for the Robertson family and the millions of fans who came to know them through their hit reality show.

But for Miss Kay, his widow and lifelong companion, the loss is proving more than emotional — it’s also taking a serious toll on her health.

“Kay is not in the best of health,” revealed their son Willie Robertson, 53, in a recent interview with USA Network. “We’re trying to help her out as much as we can.”

Willie explained that while there are medical concerns, the emotional grief of losing her husband of 60 years is having the deepest impact.

“Some of it is she is just depressed,” he said. “She lost her partner of 60 years.”

The final days of Phil Robertson’s life were spent sitting on his porch watching the sky and clutching his Bible…

At one point Miss Kay sat beside him-the two wrapped in a blanket; not speaking-they didn’t need to-their hearts did the talking.

Phil and Kay were married in 1966 and weathered decades of challenges together, growing from a tumultuous early marriage into one of deep faith and lasting devotion.

Their love story, often shared publicly, served as a foundation for the Duck Dynasty family and legacy.

Kay’s absence from the premiere party for Duck Dynasty: The Revival on June 1 was noticeable to fans.

While she appeared briefly in the first episode of the reboot, her condition prevented her from participating further.

“Mom was on the show at the beginning so we have some sweet moments with her,” Willie shared, adding a note of gratitude for those few appearances.

Phil, sadly, never appeared in the new series at all — his Alzheimer’s had progressed to the point where he could no longer participate in filming. Willie spoke candidly about the challenges of watching his father decline.

“I keep life simple. I stay in the woods as much as I can. I eat well. I love God. I love my neighbor. For the life of me, I cannot believe mlre people wouldnt get on board with that.” – Phil Robertson

“He was unable to film,” Willie said in an emotional interview with the Christian Post. “He’s not great. Alzheimer’s is kind of a cruel situation to go through.

But there are glimpses we have, some good times and some moments with him, but it certainly has progressed.”
Despite the heartbreak, Willie expressed peace about his father’s passing.

“We feel good about the life he’s lived, and he certainly does as well, and just the impact,” he added. “Such a powerful voice. He did everything I think God wanted him to do on this Earth and he’ll be ready to move on, for sure.”

Korie Robertson, Willie’s wife, also opened up about Kay’s struggles in the days and weeks following Phil’s death. She confirmed that Kay was only able to appear in some of the earlier episodes of the show before her health began to worsen.

“She’s actually in quite a few of the early episodes of this season,” Korie told The New York Post.

“As the season went on, she had some health issues, too. And she’s not been able to be on anymore. So we’re just thankful that Kay got to be on some of the earlier episodes, and we’re going to really cherish those.”

In a recent tribute episode of The Duck Call Room podcast, Jay Stone — who is married to the daughter of Phil and Kay’s son Alan — provided a hopeful update on Kay’s current living situation.

She has moved in with Jay and his wife, and while the grief remains heavy, she is being supported by her close-knit family.

“She’s doing good,” Jay said. “She’s surrounded by her family. There’s people in and out constantly. So she’s doing well and she’s eating well.”

The Robertson family continues to grieve the loss of their patriarch while doing their best to care for Miss Kay. Phil’s death was announced publicly by Korie just hours after he passed.

“We celebrate today that our father, husband, and grandfather, Phil Robertson, is now with the Lord,” Korie, 51, wrote on Instagram.

She also included a heartfelt scriptural message that reflected the family’s faith:

“He reminded us often of the words of Paul, ‘you do not grieve like those who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.’”

Phil Robertson has passed away at the age of 79. Korie Robertson — Phil’s son Willie’s wife of more than 30 years — posted the news to Facebook Sunday … saying Phil was a man of God, who always tried to remind people that death only meant returning to God’s kingdom. pic.twitter.com/bfcfRwiWTA

“Thank you for the love and prayers of so many whose lives have been impacted by his life saved by grace, his bold faith, and by his desire to tell everyone who would listen the Good News of Jesus,” she continued.

“We are grateful for his life on earth and will continue the legacy of love for God and love for others until we see him again.”

This season of sorrow has been profound for the Robertson family.

With Kay’s health in a fragile state and Phil now gone, their strength is being tested — but the family remains united through faith, love, and the support of one another.

As they continue to mourn, fans around the world are joining them in prayer for healing, peace, and strength.
