DHS Chase in Chicago Ends in Crash, Crowds and Rock Throwing…So Far

Something like this happening after a weekend of the Illinois governor running his mouth and calling Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agents thugs sure seems strangely coincidental, no?

Late this morning, the feds were out doing their jobs on the East Side of Chicago.

A neighborhood resident said a red SUV was being chased by federal agents before a crash in the area.

The Department of Homeland Security said a vehicle, driven by someone living in the U.S. without legal permission, rammed a Border Patrol vehicle that was part of an immigration enforcement operation and tried to drive away.

Border Patrol followed the vehicle and stopped it using a precision immobilization technique, or PIT, maneuver.

Two people, both living in the U.S. without legal permission, tried to run away, DHS said. They were taken into custody.

There were plenty of federal vehicles blocking the residential intersection, and a pretty sizable crowd gathered almost immediately. Chicago police officers did arrive on the scene, and, to their credit, jumped right in between the increasingly hostile locals and the feds.

And then, if you listen to the reporter on the scene, it got nasty fast right when it looked as if things were chilling out.

The tear gas canisters started hitting the deck, and while the feds had masks, the CPD did not, and a baker’s dozen of their officers were stricken and had to be treated for exposure.

…CPD had tried to get between federal agents and the residents gathered to deescalate, police said, but objects were thrown at the federal agents.

A large amount of tear gas was deployed about 12:40 p.m.

Those gathered quickly dispersed.

Federal agents had masks, but CPD did not. Some officers appeared to be affected by the gas.

CPD said 13 officers were exposed.

Video on the ground shows the situation up close and personal. You can feel the menace oozing from the crowd as they move in, begin to surround the officers, and where do the Mexican flags materialize from?

 

Part of how the Antifa and anti-ICE activists are able to mobilize so quickly is the ICE Spotter boards popping up on Facebook. It’s like playing Whack-A-Mole, getting them taken down while two more pop up. 

In fact, this one, which broke the news and address of this very confrontation so that anyone who wanted to could get down there and join in the fracas, had quite a few posts about ‘came here because they took the other board down.’

They have close to 26K members already. 

It’s a little urban guerrilla warfare comm center. 

Nice how elected officials are fomenting chaos and tacitly endorsing attacks on the feds, when the ICE facility in Broadview also has to have its fence down by tonight, too.

I wouldn’t want to be anywhere near that building if that thing gets pulled away.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement has until 11:59 p.m. Tuesday to remove the fence outside its Broadview processing facility, a judge ruled.

A bulldozer briefly pulled up Tuesday morning, but as the deadline for the removal of this fence approaches, there has yet to be any movement whatsoever toward its disassembly.

“They’re gonna drag the feet as long as possible and I don’t expect it to happen,” protester Levi Rolls said. “It sends a message that yeah, the executive branch isn’t gonna listen to the judicial branch, and it’s very dangerous precedent to set.”

…Department of Homeland Security officials maintain the fence is a necessity for the safety of federal agents and federal property while demonstrators say it limits their First Amendment rights.

Or, shoot – even if it doesn’t. They’re gonna go wild either way.

What a disgusting, dangerous mess.

Those two malevolent mental midgets, Pritzker and the Bear of Little Brains, are doing all of this to goad Trump into acting, and they don’t care who gets hurt, as it will never be either of them. Brandon Johnson has a 150-person police security detail protecting his sorry butt. I can’t imagine how many bodies it takes to cover the food blister’s.
