Federal immigration authorities have detained the wife and five children of Mohamed Sabry Soliman, the Egyptian national accused of carrying out a terror attack in Boulder, Colorado, that left 12 people injured, as reported by the New York Post.
The family is now facing expedited removal from the United States.
Soliman, 45, allegedly used a homemade flamethrower and Molotov cocktails during an antisemitic attack targeting attendees of the “Run For Their Lives” event, which was held in support of Israeli hostages in Gaza.

According to law enforcement, Soliman shouted “Free Palestine!” as he sprayed the crowd with gasoline and ignited flames using a garden hose converted into a flamethrower.
Following Soliman’s arrest on Sunday, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), along with agents from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), detained his wife and five children, who were all found to be in the U.S. without valid legal status.
The family is currently being held at the South Texas Family Residential Center in Dilley, Texas, sources confirmed to The Post.
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed the detention and said officials are investigating whether the family had prior knowledge of or provided any support to Soliman’s alleged plot.

“Mohamed’s despicable actions will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, but we’re also investigating to what extent his family knew about this horrific attack, if they had knowledge of it, or if they provided support to it,” Noem stated.
“I want the victims and their families to know that justice will be served.”
Soliman had initially entered the U.S. in August 2022 on a tourist visa, which expired in February 2023. He later applied for work authorization, granting him legal status until March 2024. His asylum application was pending at the time of the attack.
Authorities say Soliman left farewell messages for his wife and children in a drawer before driving approximately 100 miles from his Colorado Springs residence to Boulder, where the attack occurred.
He reportedly told investigators he delayed the attack until after his daughter graduated high school.

During the incident, Soliman injured 12 individuals, eight of whom — four men and four women between the ages of 52 and 88 — required hospitalization.
Soliman is being held on multiple federal charges, including hate crimes and 16 counts of attempted first-degree murder. If convicted on all counts, he could face up to 624 years in prison.
