Diddy Planning Comeback Concert at Madison Square Garden After Release, Lawyer Says

Sean “Diddy” Combs is preparing for a high-profile return to the music stage, with plans underway for a concert at Madison Square Garden following his release from prison, according to his legal team, as reported by The New York Post.

Combs, 55, was found guilty in July of two counts of prostitution. He was acquitted on related charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. His legal team now says he’s looking ahead to reentering the entertainment world once his sentence is complete.

Marc Agnifilo, lead attorney for Combs, told CBS Mornings in a segment set to air Thursday that the rapper intends to stage a major comeback performance.

“He’s going to be back at Madison Square Garden — and I said I’ll be there,” Agnifilo told correspondent Jericka Duncan.

While Combs has not publicly confirmed any plans to return to recording music, Agnifilo said his client is focused on reconnecting with family and loved ones and hinted at a performance being part of his post-incarceration plans.

“I think he wants to get out of jail, reestablish a loving, present relationship with all of his seven children,” Agnifilo said.

When pressed by Duncan on what Combs meant by returning to Madison Square Garden, Agnifilo clarified, “I guess being on stage, you know?”

The lawyer described Combs as someone who is driven to take on new challenges and do “something exceptional.”

The news of a possible comeback comes as Combs’ defense team confirmed they have approached the Trump administration regarding a potential pardon. Nicole Westmoreland, another member of Combs’ legal counsel, told CNN that outreach efforts had been made.

“It’s my understanding that we’ve reached out and had conversations in reference to a pardon,” Westmoreland said earlier this week.

President Donald Trump addressed the issue during a Friday interview with Newsmax’s Rob Finnerty, where he acknowledged having prior interactions with Combs but expressed hesitation about granting clemency.

“Well, he was essentially, I guess, sort of half innocent,” Trump said. “Probably – eh, you know, I was very friendly with him. I got along with him great, and seemed like a nice guy. I didn’t know him well, but when I ran for office he was very hostile.”

Trump added, “It’s hard, you know, like, we’re human beings, and we don’t like to have things cloud our judgment, right? But when you knew someone and you were fine, and then you run for office, and he made some terrible statements – so, I don’t know, it’s more difficult.”

Asked whether he was leaning toward denying the request, Trump responded, “I would say so.”

Representatives for Combs have not issued a statement regarding the potential concert or the status of the pardon request.
