Do Democrats Love Crime, or Just Hate Trump?

The people who spent all of 2020 screaming “Defund the police” are big mad at President Trump for cracking down on crime. 

As rioters burned down whole city blocks, Democrats took a knee and begged for forgiveness. Politicians called the rioting public health. And there is no illegal immigrant, pedo or gang member who doesn’t get a pat on the back from countless Democrats.

So it shouldn’t surprise me that the entire Democratic Party is rallying around the idea that our urban cores should be crime-ridden s**tholes, but it still does. 

Granted, violent crime is not as bad as it was in 2023, when all hell broke loose. But that is small comfort to the millions of people who are terrorized by criminals.

And violent crime, while the worst, is just the tip of the iceberg. Property crimes ruin our quality of life. Everything gets put behind plexiglass, and even cheap products are being secured.

Democrats, though, insist that the solution to crime is…less enforcement. In a way, that makes sense–if you don’t arrest and prosecute criminals, they never get in the statistics. Reducing felonies to misdemeanors and misdemeanors to warnings allows politicians to claim dramatic reductions in crime. It’s the way that third-world countries and the old Soviet Union worked–the problem doesn’t exist if you don’t acknowledge it.

You would think that Democrats, of all people, would want something to be done about crime. After all, Democrats are concentrated in urban areas most affected by it. Their constituents–black and brown people in particular–are begging for more protection from the police.

Yet Democrats are dead set against deploying the police to actually take criminals off the streets. They have created a system that is tailor-made for criminals to escape prosecution for any but the most violent crimes. There are criminals walking the streets having been arrested dozens of times, and for some reason, Democrats seem to like it that way.

Or, perhaps, they don’t LIKE it that way so much as they hate the people who believe law and order are necessary to allow people to live a decent life. 

Could it be that they are not so much attracted to crime as they are repelled by conservatives who demand safe streets? As you may recall, Nixon was elected partly on the promise to restore order during the turbulent 60s, and Democrats hated him for it. The current anti-Trump/pro-crime freakout is, I think, based on a similar rejection of bourgeois values. 

When somebody prefers having their car stolen and their arm broken to having Donald Trump help them, it’s pretty clear that there is a mental illness at work. 

That, I think, is what we are seeing here. It is likely the same with the alphabet issues–Democrats rallying around the freakiest people–soldiers in doggy masks and weird men in dresses–just because they hate conservatives. They are literally sacrificing their kids to “own” the cons. 

I can think of no other reason why anybody would rush a criminal sex offender out the back door of a jail to prevent ICE from deporting them. Or give illegal aliens who can’t speak English commercial driver’s licenses. These are manifestly insane things. 

Hence, they are insane. There is a reason why we call it “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” It should become an officially recognized disease.
