Two juveniles have been arrested in connection with the violent assault of Edward Coristine, a former employee of the pro-Trump DOGE digital operations team, who was attacked early Sunday morning in Washington, D.C.
As Fox News reported, Coristine, who is widely known online by the nickname “Big Balls,” was assaulted around 3:00 a.m. near Dupont Circle after intervening to protect a woman reportedly being harassed by a group of teenagers.

According to law enforcement, Coristine pushed the woman into a vehicle to protect her and then turned to confront the group. Several teens allegedly attacked him before police patrolling nearby arrived on the scene.
As officers approached, the suspects fled on foot. Coristine sustained visible injuries and was left bloodied, according to a photo shared by President Donald Trump on Truth Social.
President Trump responded on Tuesday with a strong statement, vowing to use his executive authority to restore law and order in the nation’s capital if local officials fail to address rising violence.

“The most recent victim was beaten mercilessly by local thugs,” Trump wrote. “Perhaps it should have been done a long time ago, then this incredible young man, and so many others, would not have had to go through the horrors of violent crime. If this continues, I am going to exert my powers, and FEDERALIZE this City. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Trump also called for juveniles over the age of 14 involved in gang violence to be charged as adults.
Elon Musk, former head of DOGE, commented on the incident via his X platform account.
“A few days ago, a gang of about a dozen young men tried to assault a woman in her car at night in DC,” Musk wrote. “A @Doge team member saw what was happening, ran to defend her and was severely beaten to the point of concussion, but he saved her. It is time to federalize DC.”

Law enforcement confirmed the arrest of two juveniles but has not released further details about additional suspects. The investigation remains ongoing.
President Trump emphasized that crime in the capital has reached an unacceptable level and that criminals “are not afraid” of the police because “nothing ever happens to them.”
“Washington, D.C. must be safe, clean, and beautiful for all Americans and, importantly, for the World to see,” Trump added.
“If D.C. doesn’t get its act together, and quickly, we will have no choice but to take Federal control of the City, and run this City how it should be run, and put criminals on notice that they’re not going to get away with it anymore.”
