The United States Department of Justice (DOJ) is forming a Strike Force to review evidence relating to “Russigate,” which Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard publicized Friday, the DOJ announced in a Wednesday press release.
“The Department of Justice is proud to work with my friend Director Gabbard and we are grateful for her partnership in delivering accountability for the American people. We will investigate these troubling disclosures fully and leave no stone unturned to deliver justice,” Attorney General (AG) Pam Bondi said, according to the press release.
Gabbard declassified a series of documents that purportedly show former President Barack Obama and his intelligence chiefs participated in a “years-long coup” against President Donald Trump, she claimed in a series of Friday tweets. The briefing’s draft found that “Russian and criminal actors did not impact US election results by conducting malicious cyber activities against election infrastructure,” the Office of the Director of National Intelligence’s (ODNI) documents showed.
On Dec 8, 2016, IC officials prepared an assessment for the President’s Daily Brief, finding that Russia “did not impact recent U.S. election results” by conducting cyber attacks on infrastructure.
