The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced Wednesday that 16 anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) rioters have been arrested in Minnesota for allegedly “assaulting” federal agents.

Attorney General Pam Bondi alleged in an X post that the Minnesota rioters had actively “been resisting and impeding our federal law enforcement agents.” She added that the DOJ expects “more arrests to come.” (RELATED: Anti-ICE, Trans Friendly ‘White-Owned’ Minnesota Toy Store Complains About Getting Audited By Feds)

The DOJ did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

There have been multiple recent reports of federal immigration agents clashing with violent anti-deportation protests in Minnesota amid ICE’s ongoing enforcement surge in the state. Federal agents fatally shot protesters Renee Good on Jan. 7 and Alex Pretti on Saturday during scuffles in Minneapolis.

On Friday, activists reportedly held a “sit-in” at the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport to protest deportation flights occurring amid ICE’s crackdown.
