President Donald Trump issued a blunt warning Thursday that the United States “will have no choice” but to take lethal action against Hamas if the militant group continues executing Palestinians it accuses of collaborating with Israel, as reported by The New York Post.

“If Hamas continues to kill people in Gaza, which was not the Deal, we will have no choice but to go in and kill them. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” Trump posted on Truth Social.

The post followed a video circulated on social media on Tuesday showing masked gunmen in Gaza executing Palestinians accused of cooperating with Israeli forces.

The footage, which was widely shared online, prompted international condemnation and renewed attention on the internal security situation in the Gaza Strip.

Trump’s message framed the videos as evidence that Hamas has carried out reprisal killings and suggested a direct U.S. response if the executions continue.

The president did not outline specific operational plans or identify which U.S. forces would carry out such an operation, nor did he provide a timeline.

Administration officials have, in recent weeks, been publicly and privately monitoring developments in Gaza as Israel continues its campaign against Hamas following the October 7 attacks.

Israel has repeatedly said it is targeting Hamas infrastructure and operatives; the group controls governance and security in the Gaza Strip and has faced criticism from human-rights groups and foreign governments over its treatment of political opponents and alleged collaborators.

The social-media videos showed apparent summary executions carried out by masked gunmen in civilian clothing. Local and regional sources reporting on the footage said the men executed were accused of passing information to Israeli forces.

Independent verification of the identities and circumstances in the videos was limited at the time they circulated.

Trump’s post — delivered in his characteristic direct style on Truth Social — drew rapid attention from a range of voices in Washington and abroad. Supporters hailed his hardline stance against Hamas; critics warned that rhetoric promising kinetic action raises questions about escalation and long-term strategy in an already volatile theater.

On the ground, Gaza remains the scene of intense fighting and a humanitarian crisis. Reports from multiple outlets indicate civilian casualties, displacement, and shortages of food, water, and medical supplies.

International organizations and foreign governments have repeatedly called for protected humanitarian corridors and for the humane treatment of civilians and detainees.

Trump’s threat marks a significant rhetorical escalation from the United States, which has so far supported Israel diplomatically and with military assistance while urging measures to limit civilian harm.

Whether the statement will translate into concrete U.S. military action — or trigger diplomatic efforts to curb further extrajudicial killings in Gaza — remained unclear following the president’s post.

U.S. officials did not immediately provide additional comment on Thursday beyond reiterating the need to protect civilians and to hold accountable those who commit atrocities.
