A golf course altercation involving a retired National Hockey League (NHL) player has gained widespread attention after footage surfaced showing a physical confrontation between two golfers, reportedly stemming from a dispute over slow play.

The incident allegedly occurred several days ago at an undisclosed golf course in Florida.

According to a report from the New York Post, the conflict began when a group of golfers, described by witnesses as intoxicated and playing slowly, were asked by the group behind them to speed up after a reported 23-minute delay between holes.

Witnesses stated that the group being trailed responded with hostility.

One of the individuals, wearing a Hawaiian shirt, allegedly challenged a member of the following group to a fight.

That individual, speculated to be retired NHL enforcer Nick Tarnasky, reportedly responded by stating, “You’re not scaring anybody.”

Video of the altercation, widely circulated on social media, shows a man resembling Tarnasky confronting the instigator and ultimately throwing him into a nearby water hazard.

The footage also appears to show the man delivering multiple strikes while warning the aggressor to back off.

At one point, Tarnasky can be heard shouting, “BANG!…BANG!” as the confrontation escalated.

Tarnasky, who played over 250 games in the NHL for teams including the Tampa Bay Lightning and Nashville Predators, has not publicly commented on the incident.

Law enforcement was reportedly contacted, but the group believed to have started the confrontation had already left the course by the time officers arrived. No charges have been filed.

The confrontation has reignited conversation around etiquette on public and private golf courses.

Many facilities use digital pace-of-play monitoring systems, including GPS trackers, to ensure that groups move efficiently between holes.

Players are typically expected to keep up with the group ahead of them to prevent course delays.

Eyewitness accounts suggest that the slow pace, combined with alcohol consumption, may have contributed to the tension.

No serious injuries were reported, and the altercation appears to have ended without further escalation once the group in question left the course.

In response to the video and the ensuing public interest, local authorities confirmed that no one involved in the incident has come forward to press charges.

The individual in the Hawaiian shirt has not been publicly identified.

While golf course fights are not a common occurrence, incidents involving pace-of-play disputes have increased in recent years, according to course officials in several regions.

Many clubs and public courses are reviewing protocols to prevent similar altercations from escalating in the future.

Tarnasky, known during his NHL career for his role as an enforcer, retired from professional hockey several years ago.

His potential involvement in the incident has not been officially confirmed, but multiple reports have referenced similarities in appearance and demeanor to the former NHL player.

The golf course where the altercation took place has not issued a public statement.

The video remains under review as part of a preliminary inquiry by local authorities.
