In the wake of Phil Robertson’s passing, fans of Duck Dynasty were heartbroken to learn that his beloved wife, Miss Kay Robertson, was struggling with her health.
Phil, the patriarch of the Robertson family and founder of the Duck Commander empire, died on May 25, 2025, at the age of 79 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
The couple had been married for nearly six decades, and Kay’s grief took a visible toll on her well-being.

“Kay is not in the best of health,” her son Willie Robertson shared with USA Today shortly after his father’s death. “We’re trying to help her out as much as we can.”
The news prompted an outpouring of support and prayers from fans across the country.

Now, just weeks later, it seems those prayers have been answered.
In a remarkable and unexpected shift, Miss Kay is showing signs of renewed energy and strength that her family calls “unbelievable.”
“She is doing so much better,” Willie told Fox News.
“It’s unbelievable how she made the turn. I think she was just really kind of depressed after Phil passed away. You know, you’ve been with somebody for 60 years, over 60 years, so just losing her soulmate and she is getting older.”
Willie went on to describe the dramatic change in his mother’s condition.
“Yeah, she was struggling with that a bit, but man, she’s bounced back, and she just went to church,” he said.
“I think she’s going out of town this weekend. She’s traveling more. She’s on our show.”
Willie’s wife, Korie Robertson, added a lighthearted detail that reflects the family’s humor and resilience.
“She was on the ‘Duck Call Room’ podcast, and she said it was a proof of life video,” Korie recalled. Kay reportedly joked during the podcast, “I’m tired of being dead!”
Korie elaborated on Kay’s participation in the family’s latest filming efforts: “She’s been with us for a few things that we’ve been filming this week. So that’s been really special. And, you know, that’s a special part about our show. We feel like it’s just getting to do it with our family and getting to spend that time together.”
Korie also noted that while Kay is facing the natural challenges of aging, she’s embracing life again: “We get to spend a lot of time with Uncle Si, which is super fun and to get to have Kay there. But yeah, she is getting older, and that comes with health issues, but she’s doing really well.”

The Robertson family attributes Kay’s turnaround not just to their close-knit support but also to her deep Christian faith.
Willie emphasized how faith continues to be a source of comfort and strength.
“We were just happy knowing that [Phil’s] gone on to be with the Lord, and he was so secure in that,” Willie said.
“That’s pretty much all he talked about his whole life—was whenever it ended, the faith and hope that he had.”
He continued, “Also with Alzheimer’s — the bad part is you have to watch them go down, but I think it does prepare you and I think she may have been even in denial, you know, like that it was actually gonna happen. She just had to deal with it, and she really stuck close to the family. We were all there and all around her, and she was with different family members and just took care of her friends and the relationships she had.”
That strong foundation has helped Kay find her footing in a new chapter of life—one without the man she called her partner for more than 60 years.
“We’re thankful that she’s seeing brighter days now and seeing where she’s at in life, and life without Phil, and Phil was bigger than life,” Willie added.
“He leaves a big void, for sure, and I know them two were so together in pretty much everything that they did, so I know it was hard for her.”

Kay did not attend the June 1 premiere party for Duck Dynasty: The Revival, the family’s new reality series, but she made a brief cameo in the first episode.
It’s now been confirmed that she will appear in the upcoming second season, currently in production.
Phil and Kay’s love story began in 1966 and endured for nearly 60 years. Phil’s death was announced by Korie in a heartfelt Instagram post:
“We celebrate today that our father, husband, and grandfather, Phil Robertson, is now with the Lord,” she wrote.
“He reminded us often of the words of Paul, ‘you do not grieve like those who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.’”
“Thank you for the love and prayers of so many whose lives have been impacted by his life saved by grace, his bold faith, and by his desire to tell everyone who would listen the Good News of Jesus,” she continued.
“We are grateful for his life on earth and will continue the legacy of love for God and love for others until we see him again.”
