A fugitive from El Salvador, accused of being a contract killer, was apprehended in Seattle while illegally residing in the U.S., according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

This arrest underscores the ongoing efforts to remove dangerous illegal migrants from American communities, as reported by The New York Post.

Jose Marin-Lozano, 47, was taken into custody on Tuesday. Authorities in El Salvador had been hunting him for years due to multiple aggravated homicide charges, including the murder of a police officer.

Dennis Quaid’s #1 Warning for Americans

According to ICE, his criminal record in El Salvador dates back to at least 2018, when he was involved in the kidnapping and murder of a man while he was working as a police officer.

El Salvadoran law enforcement first issued a warrant for his arrest in September 2020 on aggravated homicide charges. A second warrant followed in June 2021, citing additional offenses, including conspiracy to commit aggravated homicide.

Reports indicate that Marin-Lozano was part of a law enforcement gang that functioned as a hit squad, targeting victims with brutal efficiency.

While Marin-Lozano initially evaded conviction, a court later overturned his acquittal and ordered a retrial. Meanwhile, several of his alleged accomplices were convicted and sentenced to prison.

Rather than face justice in his home country, he fled to the United States, where he attempted to vanish into the shadows of sanctuary policies that too often shield criminals from deportation.

ICE has not disclosed details on when or where Marin-Lozano first entered the U.S., only confirming that he did so illegally. It also remains unclear how long he had been hiding in Seattle before authorities finally caught up with him.

What is clear, however, is that had he remained undetected, he would have been yet another violent criminal walking freely in a country already burdened by lax immigration policies.

ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Seattle Field Office Director Drew H. Bostock emphasized the agency’s commitment to tackling such threats.

“ICE will continue to act quickly when we learn of cases like this in our community. This arrest highlights the important work our officers do on a daily basis.”

Authorities have not revealed specifics regarding Marin-Lozano’s capture, but he is currently being held in ICE custody as deportation proceedings move forward.

While some would prefer to ignore the consequences of unchecked illegal immigration, this case serves as yet another reminder of why strong border enforcement is critical.

The presence of foreign criminals hiding in American cities is an undeniable threat, one that ICE continues to address despite political opposition from the left.
