Elon Musk, the chief executive of DOGE, appeared on Fox News Channel’s “Special Report” on Thursday, where he discussed the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict and shared his thoughts on how it might ultimately come to an end.

During the interview with host Bret Baier, Musk criticized those who continue to champion the continuation of the conflict, accusing them of engaging in virtue signaling.

Baier began the segment by noting the ongoing debate within American politics, especially among Republicans, about how best to support Ukraine in the war.

Elon Musk Called This Financial News ‘Terrifying’

“Obviously, there are some Republicans who think supporting Ukraine is the right thing, still,” Baier said.

“But there is a battle back and forth about how. How do you think it comes to an end?”

Musk responded by expressing his belief that a negotiated peace would eventually be the outcome.

“Well, I think there will be a negotiated peace,” Musk said.

He emphasized the human cost of the war, highlighting the deaths that continue to occur on both sides.

“And the thing that we should be concerned about is we should have empathy for the thousands of people that are dying every day in trenches for no movement in the lines. The borders have remained the same. For the past two years, dozens of people have died every week for nothing. For what?”

Musk further criticized those who push for the continuation of the conflict without offering any viable solution to the ongoing loss of life.

“I take great offense at those who put the appearance of goodness over the reality of it,” he said.

“Those who virtue signal and say we can’t give in to Russia but have no solution to stopping thousands of kids dying every day. They just want that to continue forever. I have contempt for such people. And I want to make that clear.”

Elon Musk becomes deeply moved, and deadly serious, when Bret Baier asks him why he called Sen. Mark Kelly a “Traitor” for pushing to send more US aid and weapons to Ukraine.

Musk’s comments reflect his frustration with what he perceives as a lack of realistic solutions to end the war and his belief that more focus should be placed on the human toll of the conflict.

His remarks also suggest a growing impatience with the political and media elite, who he believes may be more interested in maintaining the appearance of moral superiority than in seeking a real resolution to the crisis.

The war in Ukraine, which began in February 2022, has seen continued fighting along the front lines, with no significant territorial shifts in recent months.

Despite heavy casualties and widespread suffering, efforts to broker peace have been limited, and the conflict remains a major international issue.

Musk’s statement that a negotiated peace is the likely resolution echoes his previous calls for dialogue and diplomacy, including his controversial suggestion in 2022 that Ukraine should hold a referendum on its territories to resolve the conflict.

Musk’s interview on Fox News comes amid ongoing debates within both political parties in the U.S. about how best to support Ukraine in its fight against Russia.

While some Republicans have advocated for a more cautious approach, others have called for continued military and financial assistance.

The Biden-Harris administration, meanwhile, has continued to provide support to Ukraine, including advanced weaponry and financial aid, while urging NATO allies to do the same.

As the war continues with no end in sight, Musk’s criticism of those advocating for its continuation without a clear solution adds another voice to the growing calls for a more pragmatic approach to resolving the conflict.

Whether his message will resonate with policymakers and the public remains to be seen, but his comments are likely to spark further debate on the best path forward for Ukraine and its allies.
