Elon Musk Calls Out Biden for Stranding Astronauts Over Politics [WATCH]

Elon Musk is calling out former President Joe Biden for allegedly leaving two astronauts stranded aboard the International Space Station (ISS) due to political maneuvering, as reported by The New York Post.

In a fiery exchange during a joint interview with former President Donald Trump on Fox News’ “Hannity,” Musk didn’t hold back.

“They were left up there for political reasons, which is not good,” Musk stated, seated next to Trump.

The billionaire CEO of SpaceX explained that his company launched a Crew Dragon capsule back in September to bring the astronauts home, but NASA dragged its feet on approving their return.

According to Musk, the delay was absurd. “The plans were postponed kind of to a ridiculous degree,” he told Hannity, adding that the rescue mission would finally bring the astronauts back in “about four weeks.”

He also revealed that Biden’s administration had stalled the return until pressure mounted.

“At the president’s request, or instruction, we are accelerating the return of the astronauts,” Musk noted. “We have brought astronauts back from the space station many times before, and always with success.”

Despite the political games being played, he assured the public that SpaceX would proceed with “extreme caution” to ensure the safety of the crew.

Trump, never one to shy away from calling out Biden’s failures, took the opportunity to hammer home the point.

“They didn’t have the go-ahead with Biden. He was going to leave them in space. I think he was going to leave them in space … He didn’t want the publicity.”

The two astronauts in question, Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, found themselves stuck on the ISS after Boeing’s troubled Starliner capsule was deemed unsafe for their return.

Originally scheduled for just an eight-day mission, their stay has now stretched to a jaw-dropping 258 days. NASA confirmed in December that the pair would have to wait for another SpaceX rescue capsule to arrive “no earlier than late March.”

After that, they’d still have to go through an unspecified handover process before finally departing.

Trump previously accused Biden of outright abandoning the astronauts in a social media post. That prompted pushback from the astronauts themselves, though their statements left room for skepticism.

“We don’t feel abandoned, we don’t feel stuck, we don’t feel stranded,” Wilmore told CNN’s Anderson Cooper, while conceding, “I understand why others may think that.”

Williams admitted the mission was dragging out far longer than expected, saying, “It was a little bit longer stay than we had expected,” but insisted, “We’ve made the most of it.”

The Trump-Musk sit-down, filmed last week at the White House, also touched on Musk’s initiative to rein in government spending with his newly proposed Department of Government Efficiency.

But Biden’s failure to bring American astronauts home in a timely manner made it clear why such reforms are necessary. When politics interfere with something as basic as bringing people back from space, it’s just another glaring example of why leadership matters.
