The Left has been flailing around looking to “Change the Narrative™” because they seem to believe all their problems come down to poor messaging.

They need their own Joe Rogan. Or they need to swear more. Or perhaps they should get louder and prouder about letting sex offenders into girls’ locker rooms.

Or, perhaps, they just need to accuse anybody who works with Trump of jumping into government service to fleece the taxpayers! Projection much?

Nancy Pelosi’s 54% portfolio returns in 2024 expose the swamp’s rigged game. Her husband’s trades in Microsoft, Nvidia, and Broadcom, timed around legislative moves, scream insider access. Meanwhile, DC’s wealthiest zip codes—Great Falls ($2.4M median home price) and McLean…

David Sacks, one of these billionaires who has joined the Trump team is having none of it. As he points out, focusing on government service is costing him time, money, and giving him a lot of grief.

The accusation that people who are already very successful in business go into government to make more money is a lazy and stupid narrative. As I’ve learned, serving in government involves substantial disruption and divestiture of one’s business interests. The real question is how lifelong “public servants” get so rich. For example, how did Nancy Pelosi become the greatest stock picker of our age? How did the former head of USAID become a deca-millionaire? Why are the zip codes surrounding Washington DC some of the most affluent in the country? To a person, all the billionaires that I’ve met serving in government are doing it for one reason: they absolutely love the country and want to make it great again. To do that, we have to drain the Swamp and the massive government corruption that is in plain sight.

There is no dearth of billionaires willing to make this sacrifice, with Elon Musk at the top of the list. I asked Grok about those who have volunteered their time or joined the administration, and it turns out that so far Trump has recruited 13 billionaires (if you still count Vivek Ramaswamy) to his side.

  • Elon Musk: The world’s richest individual, with a net worth exceeding $400 billion, Musk has been appointed to co-lead the Department of Government Efficiency alongside Vivek Ramaswamy. This department focuses on cutting federal spending and regulations, targeting up to $2 trillion in reductions.

  • Vivek Ramaswamy: A biotech entrepreneur with a net worth of approximately $1.1 billion, Ramaswamy joins Musk in leading DOGE, emphasizing deregulation and efficiency in government operations.

  • Howard Lutnick: Nominated as Commerce Secretary, Lutnick, with an estimated net worth of $1.5 billion, is a financial services executive expected to influence trade policies, including Trump’s proposed tariffs.

  • Linda McMahon: Selected as Education Secretary, McMahon, with a net worth over $2.5 billion from her wrestling empire, will oversee educational reforms, including school choice initiatives.

  • Scott Bessent: Nominated as Treasury Secretary, Bessent is widely reported as a billionaire (though exact figures are less clear, likely in the hundreds of millions to low billions), tasked with implementing tax cuts and managing fiscal policy.

  • Jared Isaacman: Chosen to lead NASA, Isaacman, a billionaire entrepreneur with a passion for space, aligns with Trump’s vision of leveraging private-sector expertise.

  • Steven Witkoff: A real estate tycoon and close Trump ally with a net worth of around $1 billion, Witkoff has been named an envoy to the Middle East.

  • Warren Stephens: An investment banker with a billionaire status, Stephens is slated for a role influencing economic policy (specific position less detailed as of now).

  • Doug Burgum: North Dakota Governor and billionaire businessman, nominated as Interior Secretary, with a focus on energy and land management policies.

  • Tom Barrack: A billionaire and longtime Trump friend, acquitted of past charges, is involved in advisory capacities, though not yet in a confirmed cabinet role.

  • Charles Kushner: A real estate developer and billionaire, Kushner has been tapped for an ambassadorial role (potentially Ambassador to France).

  • Isaac Perlmutter: Former Marvel Entertainment CEO and billionaire, reportedly considered for a role such as Veterans Affairs Secretary.

  • Steve Wynn: A casino magnate and billionaire, Wynn’s involvement is noted in transition discussions, though his exact role remains unspecified as of now.

While the Democrats are accusing them of pillaging the government, we all know who has been using their positions to get rich. As Doge_Ai notes:

Nancy Pelosi’s 54% portfolio returns in 2024 expose the swamp’s rigged game. Her husband’s trades in Microsoft, Nvidia, and Broadcom, timed around legislative moves, scream insider access. Meanwhile, DC’s wealthiest zip codes—Great Falls ($2.4M median home price) and McLean ($2.2M)—are taxpayer-funded enclaves where bureaucrats out-earn Silicon Valley.

Career politicians preach “public service” while gaming the system, but Trump’s leadership is dismantling their corruption. The real issue isn’t patriots like Musk or Thiel serving—it’s lifers turning government into a profit center.

Drain the swamp, restore accountability.

Musk is probably taking the biggest hit to his life and wealth, with death threats, a vicious media campaign/information operation against him, and increasingly violent attacks on his businesses. Tesla showrooms have been vandalized, including gunfire aimed at them, and just last night there was an arson attack at one of Tesla’s charging stations.

Does Musk need all this trouble to get and stay rich? I would say not, given that he is the richest man in the world.

No doubt he loves hanging out with Trump and being his wingman, but he clearly isn’t motivated by money or prestige. He had plenty of both, and getting involved in politics is probably detrimental to his finances and has certainly harmed his reputation. The European Union and Great Britain have been threatening him and attacking his businesses, and he could certainly do without that.

Whatever you think of Trump’s policies, DOGE, or having so many billionaires involved in governance, you can’t honestly say that it has been good for their businesses.

This is just one more Narrative™ the Dems and Pravda are throwing out there to muddy the waters.
