Eric Trump Blasts Legacy Media Talking Head ‘Elitists,’ Names Names [WATCH]

Eric Trump, son of President-elect Donald Trump, recently spoke out about the media’s treatment of his father during his presidency and campaign.

In an interview, he described a drastic shift in the media’s attitude toward his family, noting that once-friendly faces in the media turned against them the moment his father announced his presidential run.

Trump highlighted that despite the hostility from the mainstream media, his father achieved a historic electoral victory and won the popular vote by approximately 5 million votes.

“They just lost all the credibility,” Eric said. “Listen, my father won the popular vote by, what, 5 million votes, the largest Electoral College victory, and what 50, 60 years in this country. And clearly, he had a media that was 98% against him every single day.”

Eric recalled how several media figures who now regularly criticize his father once had close personal relationships with their family.

He specifically named MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, CNN’s Anderson Cooper and Don Lemon, Oprah Winfrey, and Donny Deutsch. “Let me just remind you, this is the same media that we as a family knew so well,” Eric said. “You see Joe and Mika on MSNBC every single morning, and they’re trashing him every morning. I mean, they used to spend half the weekends at Mar-a-Lago. They were there all the time with my father.”

Eric continued, “This is Oprah. Oprah, another person who used to love going to Mar-a-Lago. Erin Burnett, right? Same thing, always around. We’d have lunch with her in Trump Tower all the time. The Anderson Coopers, the Don Lemons—I mean, we literally knew them all. And they loved us, right? They loved us.”

He described how the shift in these relationships happened “like this” after his father’s famous ride down the escalator at Trump Tower, officially launching his presidential campaign. “It all changed when he went down that escalator,” Eric said. “They knew his heart and soul. They knew us as a family. They were friends of ours. And it all changed.”

Eric suggested that the media’s approach backfired, as they misjudged the sentiment of the American people. “Clearly they got the American people wrong, because no matter how bad their coverage was, my father had maybe the most decisive victory in the history of American politics,” he said.

Eric added that this disconnect has led to a decline in media credibility, with Americans increasingly turning to alternative platforms for information.

“I think the media has a lot of inward reflection to do,” Eric said. “I’m not actually sure if they’re capable of doing it, because they are elitist, and they pretend to be smarter than everybody else, and what they say goes.”

He noted that the American people are increasingly rejecting traditional media in favor of independent voices. “The media in this country has less credibility than it’s ever had before,” he said. “Hence the reason that podcasts are doing so well. Hence the reason that Joe Rogan is doing so well. Hence the reason my father goes on with Elon Musk on Twitter Spaces. He had 2.1 billion total impressions from that.”

Eric Trump concluded that the media landscape is shifting as Americans seek out voices they trust. “The landscape of the media is changing drastically because the American people do not trust them,” he said, emphasizing the role of podcasts and platforms like Twitter Spaces as alternatives to mainstream media.
