Ex-Soldier Vanishes After Allegedly Killing His 3 Daughters, Search Ongoing [WATCH]

Authorities in Washington state are searching for a 32-year-old man wanted on three counts of murder and kidnapping after the bodies of his three young daughters were discovered near a remote campground, as reported by Fox News.

Travis Decker, a former Army soldier with “extensive training,” is being sought by multiple law enforcement agencies following the tragic discovery west of Leavenworth.

According to the Wenatchee Police Department, the girls’ mother contacted authorities Friday evening after Decker failed to return their daughters following a scheduled visitation. The girls were ages 9, 8, and 5.

The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Marshals Service have launched a joint manhunt. Decker’s vehicle, a white 2017 GMC Sierra pickup truck with Washington state plates, was found unoccupied near a campground approximately 20 miles northwest of Wenatchee on Monday.

Investigators said the children’s bodies were located in “relatively close proximity to that vehicle.”

Officials are urging the public not to approach Decker. “The suspect is not known to be armed at this time, but should be considered dangerous,” the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office stated.

A reward of up to $20,000 is being offered for information that leads directly to Decker’s arrest.

Court documents obtained by FOX 13 Seattle reveal that Decker’s ex-wife previously expressed concerns about his mental health, stating he had been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and was possibly not taking his prescribed medication.

She also noted that he seemed unusually quiet during the pickup on Friday, which she described as “out of character.”

Decker reportedly told the girls’ mother that he was considering giving away the family dog due to financial and housing difficulties. After the girls were not returned by the expected time and calls to Decker went to voicemail, she notified police.

Wenatchee School District Superintendent Kory Kalahar confirmed the girls were students at Lincoln Elementary School. “Our immediate and utmost priority is the well-being of the Lincoln Elementary community,” Kalahar said.

“We are focusing all our efforts on providing comprehensive support to their students, staff, and families during this unimaginable time.”

Search efforts continue across the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest and surrounding areas. Authorities say they are pursuing multiple tips and credible leads.

“Travis, if you’re listening, this is your opportunity to turn yourself in,” Chelan County Sheriff Mike Morrison said during a Tuesday press conference.

“Do the right thing. Take accountability for your actions. We’re not going to rest until we find you.”
