Republican Tennessee Rep. Mark Green urged Trump’s Department of Justice (DOJ) on Wednesday to review federal firearm licenses (FLLs) revoked during the Biden administration.
In a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi, Green commended the Trump administration for reversing Biden’s “radical anti-gun policies” but explained that hundreds of businesses whose licenses were revoked “with little to no due process” are still dealing with the consequences, including two veteran-owned gun shops in his district.
“Under former President Biden, the ATF aggressively pursued a ‘revoke first, prove willfulness later’ policy,” he wrote. “This absurd and vindictive misinterpretation of the law victimized countless law-abiding business owners who did their best to conduct their business with caution and circumspection.”

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) revoked more licenses under its “zero tolerance” policy in 2024 than any year in the last two decades, according to The Trace.
The DOJ and ATF repealed the policy, which Bondi said “unfairly targeted law-abiding gun owners and created an undue burden on Americans seeking to exercise their constitutional right to bear arms,” on April 7. “While I am grateful the Trump administration has ended this egregious and predatory enforcement, there are still hundreds of firearm dealers who had their FFLs unjustly revoked,” Green wrote.
One of these companies is Tactical Edge Arms, whose license was revoked after the ATF found ten minor errors among the 2,500 forms it filed, an error that previously would have “warranted a warning letter at most,” according to Green’s letter.

Another company, Allen’s Gun Shop, was cited in 2021 for clerical errors after nearly 20 years in business and given just “15 days to cease all firearm sales with no option for an appeal,” according to the letter.
“Instead of spending their life savings on lawyers’ fees—the Allens decided to shut their shop down,” Green wrote.
Green asked Bondi to “consider issuing an expedient review of all federal firearms licenses revoked under the Biden administration.”
“In many cases, the Biden ATF revoked the FFLs of gun shops with little to no due process,” he wrote. “It is time to make this right.”
