FACT CHECK: Did Trump ‘Declare War Against Chemtrails?’

A screenshot of a headline shared on Facebook claims President Donald Trump has purportedly “declared war against chemtrails.”

Verdict: False

The claim is false and originally stems from a Feb. 17 article published on “The People’s Voice,” a website that is known for spreading “fake news.”

Fact Check:

Trump will end temporary protected status (TPS) for 500,000 Haitians living in the U.S. on Aug. 3, according to BBC News. Trump also announced plans to end TPS for Venezuelans living in the U.S., but the move is facing legal challenges, the outlet reported.

The screenshot of the headline shared via Facebook claims Trump has purportedly “declared war against chemtrails.” “Trump Declares War Against Chemtrails as Unmarked Planes Dump Toxic Payloads Over U.S.,” the purported headline reads.

The claim is false and originally stems from a Feb. 17 article published on “The People’s Voice,” a website that is known for spreading “fake news.” A “Liability Disclaimer” included on the site’s “Terms of Use” page indicates it “makes no representations about the suitability, reliability, availability, timeliness, and accuracy of the information, software, products, services and related graphics contained on the site for any purpose.”

The site, which has previously been known as “NewsPunch” and “YourNewsWire,” is described as “one of the most well-known purveyors of fake news online,” according to a 2019 article from Mashable. The article also does not mention Trump or his supposed declaration of war against the chemtrails. Likewise, Trump has neither signed an executive order nor issued a statement via his personal or government X accounts or his TRUTH Social account declaring war against the chemtrails.

In addition, Check Your Fact found no credible news reports to support the claim. Actually, the opposite is true. On Feb. 21, Logically Facts debunked the claim, tracing its origin to “The People’s Voice.”

Check Your Fact has contacted the White House for comment.
