FACT CHECK: Did Trump Threaten To Terminate Federal Employees Who Wear LGBTQ-Themed Clothing?

An image shared on X purports to show a TRUTH Social statement from President Donald Trump threatening to fire federal employees who wear LGBTQ-themed clothing.

Verdict: False

The purported remark does not appear on Trump’s TRUTH Social account, and there is no other evidence suggesting he made the purported remark.

Fact Check:

Trump’s new travel ban could prohibit individuals from Pakistan and Afghanistan from entering the U.S., according to Reuters, which cited three sources familiar. The three sources indicated that the ban could also be applied to other countries, the outlet reported.

The X image, viewed over 8,000 times as of writing, purports to show a TRUTH Social statement from Trump threatening to fire federal employees who wear LGBTQ-themed clothing. “Any federal employee wearing LGBTQ themed articles of clothing, rainbow colored clothing, or any other gay stuff will be terminated immediately and replaced with a TRUE PATRIOT,” the purported statement reads.

The claim is false. Check Your Fact did not find the purported statement published on Trump’s TRUTH Social account, his personal or government X accounts, or his verified social media accounts. The claim also does not appear on the White House’s website or its verified X account @WhiteHouse.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt did not reference the claim during a March 5 briefing. Trump has not signed an executive order prohibiting federal employees from wearing LGBTQ-themed clothing, either.

In addition, Check Your Fact did not find any credible news reports to support the claim. Actually, the opposite is true. On March 6, Logically Facts debunked the claim, indicating the image is “fake.” (RELATED: Claim That DOGE Has Scheduled Congressional Audits For Warren, Raskin, And Crockett Is Satire)
