A post shared on X claims that Donald Trump Jr. said that the United States should send weapons to Russia.

Verdict: False

The audio is fake. Trump Jr. did not say the U.S. should send weapons to Russia.

Fact Check:

Social media users are claiming that Trump Jr, the son of President Donald Trump, said that the U.S. should send weapons to Russia on an episode of his podcast.

“BREAKING: Donald Trump Jr. stated: ‘I truly can’t understand why anyone in their right mind would choose Ukraine as an ally when Russia is the alternative. The U.S. should have been supplying weapons to Russia instead,’” a user posted.

This claim is false. Check Your Fact reviewed the Rumble livestream of Trump Jr’s podcast and did not find him making this statement. The episode is not available on Spotify, further casting doubt on this claim.

Andrew Surabian, a representative for Trump Jr, said on X that the audio was fake.

This is 100% fake AI generated audio, but I’m sure that won’t stop anti-Trump resistance accounts from continuing to dishonestly spread it. https://t.co/rwx6Ci1Udg

“This is 100% fake AI generated audio, but I’m sure that won’t stop anti-Trump resistance accounts from continuing to dishonestly spread it,” Surabian tweeted.

The claim was spread by an account operated by the Democratic National Committee and other big social media accounts, according to the Washington Free Beacon.
