An image shared on X claims to show spring break 2025 and spring break 2024 at the Toronto airport.

Verdict: Misleading

The bottom image is from spring break in 2009, not 2024.

Fact Check:

The United States is not expected to provide waivers to Canada for tariff relief, according to The New York Times. These tariffs are expected to be put in place on April 2, per the outlet.

Social media users are claiming to show spring break at the Toronto airport for U.S. Customs. One user wrote, “U.S. CUSTOMS
TORONTO AIRPORT TOP: Spring Break, 2025 BOTTOM: Spring Break, 2024.”

This claim is misleading. Through a reverse image search, Check Your Fact found that the bottom image is from December 2009. It can be found in a 2012 Associated Press article about “March Break” in Toronto. (RELATED: Did Trump Make An X Post With A Referral Link Providing A Discount On Tesla Purchases?)

“Thousands of passengers bound for the United States wait in line-ups due to security delays at Pearson Airport in Toronto on Sunday December 27, 2009. More than 108,000 passengers are expected to travel through the airport on March 9, 2012,” reads the image description.

The top image is dated back to March 11, though Check Your Fact cannot confirm whether or not it was taken in March 2025.
