A post shared on X claims the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) purportedly discovered a Louisiana man with 34 different Social Security numbers.

➠BREAKING: #DOGE discovers a Louisiana man with 34 different names, addresses, and social security numbers. He was collecting $1,168,646 in SS per year! pic.twitter.com/XZYFaxfWMs

— DOGE | Daily Updates (@DOGEtracker69) February 24, 2025

Verdict: False

The claim originally stems from a post shared on X by user @DOGEtracker69, not DOGE’s verified account, @DOGE.

Fact Check:

JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon praised DOGE’s efforts to curb government inefficiency, saying it “needs to be done,” according to CNBC. Dimon also said he hopes DOGE’s efforts are “successful,” the outlet reported.

The X post claims DOGE purportedly discovered a Louisiana man with 34 different Social Security numbers.

“BREAKING: #DOGE discovers a Louisiana man with 34 different names, addresses, and social security numbers. He was collecting $1,168,646 in SS per year!” the post, which does not provide a source to support its claim, reads. Besides X, the claim circulated on TikTok, where it has received over 13,000 likes as of writing.

The claim is false. Check Your Fact did not find the claim referenced on DOGE’s website or its verified X account @DOGE. Likewise, DOGE lead and owner of X Elon Musk does not appear to have commented on the claim via his verified handle @elonmusk. President Donald Trump and the Social Security Administration (SSA) have not mentioned the claim, either. (RELATED: Has Elon Musk Mandated Drug Testing For Federal Employees?)

In addition, Check Your Fact found no credible news reports to support the claim. Actually, the opposite is true. On Feb. 25, Lead Stories debunked the claim, indicating the post stemmed from X user @DOGEtracker69, not DOGE’s verified account, @DOGE.

Check Your Fact has contacted the White House for comment.
