A terrorist killed 14 people and wounded dozens of others in New Orleans by driving a car into a crowd, according to The Associated Press. He was then killed by police during a shootout, per the outlet.

Terrorists have targeted the government. For example, during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, terrorists hijacked a plane and hit the Pentagon with it, killing 64 people onboard and 125 people at the Pentagon, according to the Pentagon Memorial page.
Terrorists also hit two embassies in East Africa, killing 224 people, including 12 Americans, according to the FBI website. Timothy McVeigh targeted the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, killing 168 people with a car bomb. The far-left Weather Underground targeted the U.S. State Department headquarters in 1975 with a bomb, injuring 20 people.
“By the next year, the group had claimed credit for 25 bombings—including the U.S. Capitol, the Pentagon, the California Attorney General’s office, and a New York City police station,” the FBI website states.
In 2014, two right-wing extremists ambushed and killed two Las Vegas police officers, according to a Department of Justice Office of Community Oriented Policing Services report.
“Their marked patrol vehicle and the law enforcement uniforms they wore made them a target to the assailants,” reads part of the report.
