FACT CHECK: Video Showing Bitcoin Whitepaper Framed In Oval Office Is Digitally Altered

A viral video shared on X claims President Donald Trump purportedly has a Bitcoin whitepaper framed in the Oval Office.

The video has been digitally altered. In the original video, a framed copy of the Declaration of Independence can be seen hanging in the Oval Office.

Fact Check:

Trump said his national security adviser Mike Waltz “has learned a lesson” and is “a good man” after journalist Jeffrey Goldberg claimed he was added to a private Signal chat discussing military strikes in Yemen, according to NBC News. Trump also said Goldberg’s presence in the group chat had no impact on the intended strikes, the outlet reported.

The X video, which has received over 400,000 views as of writing, claims Trump purportedly has a Bitcoin whitepaper framed in the Oval Office. In the video, Trump appears to show Fox News host Laura Ingraham the framed Bitcoin whitepaper.

“Isn’t it great? It just went up yesterday,” Trump says in the same clip.

The claim is false as the video is digitally altered. In the original video, shared on YouTube by Fox News, Trump shows Ingraham a framed copy of the Declaration of Independence he has hanging in the Oval Office. Trump can be seen showing Ingraham his framed copy of the Declaration of Independence at the video’s 3:11 mark. “This is what they like more than anything,” Trump says before opening a pair of drapes to reveal the document.

“President Donald Trump gives Fox News’ Laura Ingraham an exclusive tour of the Oval Office,” the video’s description reads.

Likewise, on March 18, the White House shared an X post featuring images of the framed Declaration of Independence hanging in the Oval Office. The next day, the White House shared the clip of Trump showing the document to Ingraham during her tour of the Oval Office.

“After decades of being stored away, President Trump unveils the Declaration of Independence, now proudly displayed in the Oval Office, to @IngrahamAngle!” the video clip’s caption reads.

In addition, Check Your Fact found no credible news reports to support the claim. Actually, the opposite is true. On March 23, Lead Stories debunked the claim, indicating the video had been digitally edited to show the Bitcoin whitepaper.
