FACT CHECK: X Video Does Not Show Trump’s New Marine One Helicopter

A video shared on X purports to show President Donald Trump’s new Marine One helicopter.

Verdict: False

The video originally stems from TikTok and was shared by a user who creates “mixed reality” and “sci-fi” content. The clip does not authentically show Trump’s new Marine One helicopter.

Fact Check:

Trump recently said he spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin about ending the ongoing Russia-Ukraine War, according to ABC News. Trump also revealed that he and Putin have agreed to “visiting each other’s nations,” the outlet reported.

The X video, which has been viewed over 5,000 times as of writing, purports to show Trump’s new Marine One helicopter.

“President Trump’s New Marine One Debuts! The D77-TC, operated by Marine Helicopter Squadron One (HMX-1), makes its first public appearance—bringing advanced tech and top-tier security to presidential air travel!” the video’s caption reads. The video shows the purported helicopter hovering in mid-air.

The claim is false. Check Your Fact conducted a reverse image search using a screenshot of the video and was led to Pinterest. A still image from the same video was saved to a Pinterest board titled “Military Aviation.” The image bears the user name iceman_fox1.

Using the same social media handle, Check Your Fact was then able to trace the video to TikTok, where its caption indicates it was “created digitally.” The social media user who shared the video creates “mixed reality” and “sci-fi” content, according to his TikTok profile.

Likewise, Trump has not referenced the claim on his personal or government X accounts or his TRUTH Social account. The White House has not publicly commented on the claim, either. (RELATED: Was Trump Booed At The Super Bowl?)

In addition, Check Your Fact found no credible news reports to support the claim. Actually, the opposite is true. On Feb. 12, Misbar debunked the claim, tracing its origin to the same TikTok creator. According to the outlet, the digitally created aircraft resembles the fictional “Pelican” vehicle from the Halo video game series.
