White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Friday that President Donald Trump’s trade policy is drawing unprecedented interest from countries around the world, with more than 75 nations reportedly seeking bilateral trade deals under the administration’s recently announced economic framework.

Appearing on Fox News’ Hannity, Leavitt confirmed that the White House is actively engaged in negotiations with dozens of countries following Trump’s announcement this week to pause reciprocal tariffs for 90 days—excluding China, which will now face a 125% tariff increase.

“It is true. We believe that there could be several deals very soon. More than 75 countries have reached out to the administration. More than 15 offers are on the table. And the president’s trade team and the president himself are working very hard to negotiate tailor-made trade deals with every country that has reached out,” Leavitt said.

Host Sean Hannity noted the influx of global interest in light of Trump’s aggressive trade approach and asked Leavitt whether “deal number one” was nearing completion.

Leavitt confirmed progress and credited the administration’s strategy for changing the dynamics of international trade negotiations.

“No other president has had the courage to fully use the leverage of the United States of America,” she said.

The administration’s move to raise tariffs on China to 125% while temporarily suspending retaliatory tariffs on others sparked a market rally this week.

The policy shift is intended to encourage countries to engage with the U.S. directly on customized, one-on-one trade agreements, rather than relying on multilateral frameworks.

Leavitt also referenced what she described as a series of recent economic and national security achievements by the administration.

Responding to a question from a CNN reporter earlier in the week, she said global leaders are beginning to understand that the U.S. will no longer allow itself to be “taken advantage of.”

“That’s exactly the point. The world is on notice. The world is finally realizing that under this president, the United States of America is not going to be taken advantage of,” Leavitt said.

“This is a president who is going to put our country, our people and our needs first.”

Leavitt went on to say that the White House has received a flood of communications from foreign governments eager to engage with the U.S. on trade and security issues.

“The phones are ringing off the hook because they need the United States of America, not just our economy and our market, but they need us to continue providing peace around this world,” she said.

She emphasized that the U.S. has long provided global stability and that partner nations are now acknowledging the importance of maintaining strong ties with Washington.

“Other countries are indebted to us for the stability that we have provided in their own countries for decades,” Leavitt said.

“And the president has made that very clear—that the American people are finally going to have the front seat at the table, and thank God for it.”

The White House’s current approach includes a baseline 10% tariff on imports from roughly 60 countries, with higher rates applied to nations maintaining protectionist trade barriers.

Leavitt reiterated that President Trump’s trade decisions are guided by one principle: putting American workers and national interests first.
