Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport was the scene of a violent altercation on Christmas Day when a family dispute escalated into a shooting and stabbing, according to police.

The incident occurred in a pre-security restaurant in Terminal Four around 9:45 p.m.
Phoenix police reported that the fight turned deadly when a gun was drawn and shots were fired.
Three individuals sustained gunshot wounds, including a woman who remains in critical condition.

Additionally, a man with stab wounds and an uninjured girl were located in the airport parking garage.
Sgt. Mayra Reeson of the Phoenix Police Department confirmed that the altercation stemmed from a family dispute. “I believe this was a family dispute that escalated,” Reeson told reporters during a briefing.
Four people were transported to local hospitals for medical treatment:
- A woman who was shot and remains in critical condition.
- Two men who also sustained gunshot wounds but are currently stable.
- A man with stab wounds, who is also listed as stable.
Authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved.
The violence prompted temporary closures of Terminal Four’s security checkpoint and several restaurants.
However, airport officials confirmed that no flights were delayed or canceled as a result of the incident.
There are no active threats at the airport, Detectives are on scene and completing an initial review to learn what led to this incident.
No flights are affected by this ongoing investigation.

Passengers were able to proceed through the terminal after the area was secured and reopened.
Phoenix police are actively investigating the case and working to determine the full circumstances surrounding the altercation.
